I was on auto. I’ve learned how to trick auto modes to do what I need them to, but yea, shutter or aperture prios work awesome.. I just haven’t played with this thing enough to get there yet. that’s how new it is.

The lense i was using was this super zoomer lens so evertime i changed the zoom, it needed to readjust focus and when it does that, it strobes the flash to see the target, even if it’s not going to use the flash.

I was reaaalllll popular in my section of the of auditorium! A giant electronic purring sound (flash strobe) accompanied by flashy alien lights… yea. I’d hate me too if I was sitting next to me! So I was trying different things to eliminate the strobey existence I was emanating!

Or, get out of there alive!

And sorry about the Sony statement, I’ve simply had way too many bad experiences with Sony products randomly dying on me. Back when my Canon point and shoot had warranty repair done to it, it was because they used a Sony CCD for that model, which commonly failed, so they recalled my model, lol. So even when my Canon failed it was because of Sony…

I have bad luck with Sony…

Now be careful. I took 30,000 pics with my Sony point and shoot over the last 3 years. it was flawless for me. Then again, camera ratings drove me to the P-150 back then.

Then again, I came across both cameras via consumer reports and review websites.

It was a pretty good deal. I got 2 lenses and no sales tax so it was almost a steal.

TO BE FAIR: It was me not the camera that didn’t focus. I tell ya, there are so many buttons on this DSLR that every time I pick the thing up, I change some setting somewhere!

And I picked a really bad time to experiment with the shutter / focus reactions… but I was still mad at it. You know how that goes. It’s never our fault!

Sigh.

Anyway, what kind of camera are you using? Olympus E-520 is what the images say… hm, I always thought Olympus makes pretty decent camera’s. I am a Canon guy myself, but the Olympus usually have pretty good features for a budget price. That’s weird that it was acting up on you. If it was a Sony I wouldn’t be too surprised, lol.
