Wonder Woman's stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine surprised some very excited fans on Wednesday at a New York City screening of the film. Director Patty Jenkins' step into the DC Comics movie world with Wonder Woman has been a hit with audiences around the world, as well as a critical success with positive reviews. Gadot has been sending positive vibes and thanking her fans for the film's amazing opening weekend (making $200 million worldwide) ever since.
Wonder Woman tells the origin story of the DC Comics superhero, who first made her big screen debut in the 2016 film Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and will next appear in the upcoming film Justice League. The latter will feature a massive group of heroes, villains and DC Comics characters coming together, including Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Lois Lane, Mera, Lex Luthor and more.
Being the gifts that keep on giving, Gadot and Pine are still not finished surprising their dedicated fans. The two stars recorded themselves gleefully about the enter the packed theater of screaming fans at said NY screening of Wonder Woman, in order to give a brief speech right before the film started. In Wonder Woman, we first meet Diana (Gal Gadot) on the island of Themyscira, which is home to the Amazons - a race of warrior-women who were created by the gods of Mount Olympus to protect humankind against the corruption of Ares, the god of war. When American pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashes in the ocean, Diana rescues him and is convinced that she must stop Ares, who she believes has taken control of the Germans lead by General Erich Ludendorff (Danny Huston) and the villainous Dr. Poison (Elena Anaya) to wreak havoc during the war to end all wars, World War I. Among the film's costars are Robin Wright as General Antiope, David Thewlis as as Sir Patrick Morgan and Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta.
With Gadot's performance of Wonder Woman resonating with fans around the world and Gadot herself connecting with her fans on such a personal level, we can't wait to see what else Gadot has up her sleeve to further connect with fans and continue being a real-life Wonder Woman for everyone.
