Wonder Woman Batman V Superman Costume First Official Look at Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman

The arrival of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice may have been brief, but it dropped enough bombs to keep fans happy. After debuting the first footage of Batman and Superman in the film, the audience was given its first look at the costume design for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. It won’t be too much of a surprise for comic book fans, but to say it’s been a long-awaited reveal would be an understatement.

All things considered, the costume is essentially what has been expected from the beginning. Staying true to the ‘Amazonian warrior’ roots of the character, the costume is a blend of battle armor and classical Greek style. The ‘W’-shaped metal eagle is alive and well atop a corset of leather and metal, with the other key features of the costume that have stayed consistent in nearly every incarnation.

We’ll go into detail about the specifics, but first, take a look at the first official, high-res photo below:

For an even larger version of the photo, head here.

First things first: the aspects of the character’s design which may have straddled the line between believable and camp have turned out surprisingly well. The battle-tiara worn by Wonder Woman since the very beginning remains, as do her bullet-deflecting bracers and the braided lasso on her hip (although we wouldn’t hold our breath that it will possess the same magical abilities as seen in the comics).

Of course, the costume is still sure to have its critics; skirt length is clearly not a concern for Diana when standing in the middle of a destroyed urban center (despite the fact that she’s still showing less than a female Transformers star), and the effectiveness of her footwear – which, let’s get straight, are wedges, not heels - in combat is questionable. Yet Snyder has also decided to tone down the costume much like he did with Man of Steel, applying a bronze glaze to the entire wardrobe instead of the bright primary colors of the comic book version.

Just to show that the muted colors may be more a product of this stylized image than the costume itself, we’ve re-saturated the photo to show that the red, blue, and gold colors are still very much at work in the design. See what you think:

Add in the leather straps which presumably hold the Amazonian princess’ shield on her back, and the costume could best be described as grounded for Warner Bros.’ growing DC movie universe, but still a faithful recreation of the source material (as is the case with Ben Affleck’s Batsuit). The reveal won’t quiet all the concerns over Wonder Woman’s arrival to the big screen, but it certainly shows she’s being given the same level of treatment as DC’s other two heavyweights.

What do you think of the final design? Does it seem like the perfect way of bringing Wonder Woman into the world established by Man of Steel, or were you hoping for a difference direction? Sound off in the comments.

  1. Better color:
    http://www.washingtonheightswarlord.com/gil.jpg

  2. All hail Princess Diana!

  3. This actress doesn’t have the face for Wonder Woman (Jaimie Alexander is still the ideal choice, IMO), and she looks like she belongs in a Conan movie (or maybe Red Sonja). What’s with the brown outfit? And seeing Wonder Woman with a sword is a strange visual. I hope this doesn’t indicate that she won’t be using her famous bracelets and/or the Lasso of Truth.

    • Well Wonder Woman has used a sword plenty of times, and you can clearly see her lasso.

    • Charming!Loooks good.Should be more films like it.Bob Truck

    • oh i get it, you have never seen wonder woman…and apparently cant read that there is a bronze photo filter over the image….

    • I agree! What happened to the red, white and blue!?

      • It’s been shared many times that the picture has a bronze color filter over the entire thing, much like the batman picture is black and white…..the whole movie will not be black and white or bronze….Look closer, her outfit is red, white and blue

  4. This chick looks like she was just pulled out of a twilight movie. Terrible choice. But this movie seems to be full of them and they keep adding. I won’t go see this steaming pile of dung for free.

    • no she got pulled from a fast and furious movie..get it right.

    • than why are you here you fing troll? give your mother back her computer

    • it get’s really frustrating here and I’m thinking about just giving up screenrant. people are just so negative even when they are obviously wrong. They complain when their dream choice isnt cast even though your choice looks nothing like wonder woman. It’s like no one here ever read comics or is even familiar with the characters other than what they want to see (which to me always comes off as you want Lou Ferrigno in body paint and anything else is horrible cry cry cry) It’s sad but ScreenRant and intellegint conversation discussing the merits of what IS taking place is gone. All that is left re internet trolls, unhappy in life who want to make everyone else miserable because of their imagined slights.

wonder woman, batman, and superman have looked and performed many different ways.. but honestly if you dont think Gal Gadot looks like Wonder Woman you are just throwing a tantrum http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/3/36774/2515431-wonder_women_by_penichet_d47up0l.jpg especially if you think gina cerrano does

      • I have to say he is right about Jaimie Alexander being an awesome choice for wonder women lol

I don’t think Gal has the look the physique nor the acting skill from what I’ve seen of her performance in Fast and furious

        • Can you actually name anything that is right about Jaime alexander and that is wrong with wonder woman other than hyperbole? this is not a rhetorical question but a serious one because everything people keep saying, ie jaime is bigger, more athletic, etc has been proven wrong by just googling

          as someone said below
          “LOL!!!
Current Gal is bigger than Jaimie Alexander & I don’t want another Brit or American portraying WW at all. ”

Wonder Woman is exotic….whats exotic about jaime alexander or gena cerrano?
Wonder Woman is a princess AND magically powered being ie doesnt and never has needed to be carved/muscular..
Acting ability…jaime alexander has not shown any more than gal gadot has…but i know gadot is ex military physical instructor for israeli military and did her own stunts in fast and furious movie…. What are you guys basing any of this on? any intelligent answers that are not the same rehash of idiocy?

        • I ask because most of the complaints on here can be googled and most of them are just wrong. Gal is bigger than Jaime. She is more athletic and does her own stunts. She is more exotic, as Diana should be. Jaime Alexander is Sif in Marvel movies so……yeah. Also on the other complaints, of folks…the suite isnt brown or bronze, the entire picture is glazed with an effect just as much as the batman picture is black and white. Absolutely nothing has been said about this being dark and gritty which every one assumes it will be and keeps saying as if it is fact…it isnt.. I mean really what are you basing your opinion on? anyone that is complaining want to step up intelligently with something that hasnt been disproved as idiotic hyperbole?

          • ***It’s a drag when the SR posting system gives you a double post***

Anyway, I agree with you, Your Point?

Too many ppl, increasingly, cross the line past playful banter & joking with ridiculous ideas (ie: story, casting…) into the realm of trolling & other nonsense.

The best defense or explanation is that SR often plays the role of cyber shoolyard with kids spitballing their best ideas, jokes & BS…lol

Makes it hard to have a good, relatively respectable talk.

A Jedi would advise patience. A cyber Jedi could be lethal to us all. Let’s all be on the lookout for Red Lightsabers!

Finally, Gadot is going to be a GREAT Wonder Woman. But not a Jedi lol :-)

            • Thanks Karmick. It gets pretty bad here with the guys who pop in to say crazy stuff even though the article or a quick google search would assuage their concerns. I’ve come to the conclusion is that they just want to be miserable and try to make others miserable. It’s easy to disqualify all the “Alexander is better than Gadot” posts by just googling and seeing who is bigger or has more athletic experience, and who already has a contract. The article even said the picture had a bronze filter over it. I don’t even think these guys know what a “bronze filter” being over the photo means..and maybe they think the batman parts will be in black and white. You should check out the Rock/Shazam thread. Racism tossed into the mix over there too(which briefly came up here when some guys were saying “why can’t we have an American actress) …it’s all ridiculous.

      • Roecosan116 what about jaime alexander makes her “better”?

        • I think they were going on the point that wonder woman is supposed to look more built than Gal does. I can see how they would disagree with her as Wonder Woman because I’m sure some even base their opinion on Lynda Carters Wonder Woman. Jamie has larger hips and her body looks to be more muscular and fitting for the Amazon build. Also with the fact that Jamie has a longer neck than Gal it makes her look not only taller, but gives her a stronger look. Gal has a smaller physic, her hips not being as wide and her neck also being smaller. Not to mention when you look at their faces Gal’s is much softer, making Jamie’s sharper look more fitting for the part. Then you could argue the fact that Jamie has darker hair which fits better, even though neither has blue eyes like Wonder Woman is supposed to have. On another note I personally find the costume looks much better with the original colours, the bronze filter looks good but with the colours it would look even better.

      • Totally agree. Half the people that post anywhere about Gal Gadot start with “This random actress I like would have been better.” Honestly, it didn’t matter who they chose, people would have disliked it. If Gal Gadot was in Thor and they had cast Jaimie Alexander in this, people would have cried for Gal Gadot to be Wonder Woman. The internet is 90% complainers now. I don’t mind the ones with reasonable discussions. Hell, I don’t like Eisenberg as Luthor (but I’ll reserve judgement until I see something). They’ll all flock to see the movie anyway. Snyder will have the last laugh with their money. And mine, but I’m excited for it :)

  5. Am I the only one that isn’t impressed by the Wonder Woman costume?

The most I can say for it is it doesn’t look TERRIBLE. Otherwise, it’s pretty bland and generic. I’ve been better, more thoughtful re-imaginings of the classic WW look with a modern, more functional twist scoured across the SDCC Artist Alley than this overly photoshopped image. This certainly doesn’t ease my uncertainties about the future of this film and the DC shared universe in general, but specifically Wonder Woman’s place in it. Even if the costume was absolutely mind-bogglingly amazing (which it certainly is not), I’d still be skeptical until I actually see Gal Gadot move and speak, considering she’s not as much an “actress” as a “model”, and has yet to show anything that would suggest she can hold the weight of one of the most iconic (definitely as far as female) superheroes of all time on her shoulders.

Also, I don’t see any of the supposed red, blue and gold SR is referring to in the saturated version. All I see is shades of brown and gray.

  6. I don’t get why everyone is upset that it doesn’t look modern. It SHOULDN’T look modern, she comes from an island that still lives in the manner of the ancient greeks. In this movie she is just coming to the world of man, yet to adopt their ways. In coming sequels I am sure she will change and adapt her look as she spends more time among modern people.
And for all those who keep saying that the color is wrong, THAT PICTURE IS SEPIA TONED, it does not accurately represent the colors you will see during the movie.

    • I don’t think it’s sepia tone, I think they’ve deliberately using brown, dark brown, slop brown, and black to fit the whole “dark and gritty” feel they’re going for. We went from Superman in the 70′s looking like the comic book, to Batman being black which set the tone for a whole fifteen years of dark color palettes, to Avengers which showed that red and blue WORK in a superhero movie. Now we’re back to brown and black. Just make the movie in black and white, because with the limited color palette there’s absolutely zero difference anyway.

      • R.Schlomo…

Since I fear for those around you if you really ARE this dumb, I MUST presume (or, at least, hope) you are simply trying to be funny. Yo are failing miserably, if that is the case, but at least…

        • “You”, not “Yo”…sigh.

        • Half joking, but also half serious. You have to ask yourself which half though! Maybe I’m only “failing miserably” because the average comic book fan is overly serious to the point of parody, which is why so many people laugh at The Big Bang Theory.

Now before you say “oh yeah well…”, take a look at Man of Steel, or as I call him “Meh of Steel”. If they didn’t want to emulate the whole “dark and gritty” look, they wouldn’t have had those washed out colors in the suit. Even when you saturate the colors in this photo, it’s STILL BROWN. It even states in the above piece that Zack Snyder decided to “tone down” the costume.

There’s no doubt in my mind they’re going for “dark and gritty”. Why? Because they feel that dirtying up Wonder Woman and other heroes make them “adult”, and they want everything to resemble Nolan’s Batman films. Like I said before, just shoot it in black and white, there’s no color in these movies anyway.

      • the whole picture is, background included, is tinted brown, its clear as day if you look. Therefore it is not a giant leap of logic that those colors are not the colors that we will see in the final movie.
washed out does not mean changed entirely.

        • They’ll use the same dull blues and reds that they used in Man of Steel, almost to the point where it borders on black and gray, because the prevailing wisdom is “dark colors = more serious dark and gritty tone”.

Here’s the thing; there’s an underlying problem here that there’s belief if you take something that was originally aimed at kids, and then surround it with these “adult” oriented things, that somehow that’s viewed as being “more mature” or having “grown up with you”. It works for Batman, because that’s the character. Now all you’re doing is trying to rip off that aesthetic, because that’s the easiest way to make something appear more mature and edgy. Which is why the first Transformers movie was about how Shia LaBeouf’s character was trying to get in the living Real Doll’s pants. We’ve gotten to the point where everyone was actually surprised that Thor played well to kids than it did adults. Gee, the movie about a space viking with a magic hammer plays well to kids? Who’d a thunk that?

You can present something in a way that’s accessible to kids, and still nuanced enough to appeal to adults. That’s what Star Wars did. That’s what Iron Man did. That’s what Avengers did, and did BRILLIANTLY. If you’re going to go “dark and gritty” with every hero thinking this is how you make it appeal to a mature audience, then you’re missing the boat completely.

          • so all that conjecture and placing words in people’s mouths? You are comparing this to Star Wars? Are you really this jaded and cynical? Are you jut fighting against dark and gritty even when things are not being pushed that way? Have you seen the movie? You are sad. Enjoy your mothers basement and the Rainbow Bright movie….but maybe that’s too dark and gritty for you too

            • And you wonder why people laugh when they watch The Big Bang Theory. Wow. Way to reinforce the angry, humorless comic book nerd stereotype.

              • And you wonder why people laugh when you speak. Wow. Way to reinforce the ignorant and condescending internet troll stereotype. Youre proven wrong and jump to insults. nice. Insults…the last refuse of a weak mind reinforce “angry, humorless comic book nerd”. Thanks for the laugh RobotShlomo.I’m sure a black guy disagrees with you you’ll just say way to be a n….woman disagree’s, your response, ” way to reinforce angry femenist Bi”…whatever you feel fits. You show how small and ignorant your mind is. you point? call you out on all that conjecture and hyperbole about your opions on more mature and what you think other fans are saying…which no one has said but you….and you jump to insult and use big bang theory…that was worse than your star wars reference. It makes no sense in the conversation..just shows that you are already a meat head bigot

              • @RobotShlomo …. lol @ you and how you show your true colors.

          • which has absolutely niothing to do with the fact that her costume is not going to be brown, which was what your entire argument started with

            • Exactly. These people are wrong so they just jump to insults. They have no point

        • @il princerino come on man, this guy obviously just wants to b**** and say hyperbole about what he thinks “everything” is now days and how they do “everything” and how what he thinks is right way…..classic personality disorder stuff….just ignore him. no amount of explaining true information can sate willful ignorance. They say half empty even when the glass is full

  7. I still think Gina Cerrano has the correct physical appearance. Gal does not have the muscular definition to play the badass that is Princess Diana. Horrible casting choice, generic and bland costume, and probably a s*** script. I don’t want perfection, I want believability. And this isn’t it.

    • yeah she’d be perfect if the role was wonder man

    • #Cosign In an era of popular athleticism, they pic someone with NO muscle tone and NO visually evident athleticism to play Wonder Woman? I’m not saying you cast China (the wrestler), but come on. #believability

      • Like I said, this seems to be what your every comment is about. You are just a hater. You have no purpose on screenrant other than to be negative. You insult others if they disagree and cosign your own fake profiles. You are ridiculous writer/director of what? Nothing. Exactly.

  8. Who says you need muscle to be a badass? The one thing anime gets right is that skill outclasses muscle in every possible way. Some of have this misconception that if you train since you were young, you should get muscular the older you get… that’s b*******. WW is not masculine, she’s sleek. She looks like a WOMAN.

    • wait… didn’t the Amazons who raised Princess Diana train her ever since she were a child??? Apparently, you DO have to train since you were young… at least to be an Amazonian Princess. No? lol

      • Yes, the Amazons trained Diana in the martial arts. They did not give her steroids.

        YOUR point?

        • Point is, humans develop muscle tone when physically challenged for lengthy periods of time. Training in martial arts since she were a child and NOT being covered in extreme body fat would indicate a realistic development of muscle tone. Your reference to steroids is misplaced.

          • Exactly.

In the costume reveal above, Gadot looks toned and healthy…she does NOT look bulky or “musclebound”. She looks ready for combat…and not just because of the outfit.

            I ask again: Your point?

            • My point has been clearly made.

The issue you have with it is that your perception of looking “combat ready” clearly differs from mine. Cheers. #believability

              • I think Archaeon has a point.

Well-trained muscles aren’t always big. Body builders train in a very specific way to get big. Many other athletes are just strong and have great endurance, but they aren’t big.

And how visible your muscles are, also depends on your bodyfat. Body builders go for as little as possible to make their muscles really stand out. But if you look at for example the strong man competitors, they’re often just as big as body builders (if not bigger) but they’re also often looking a bit fat, because they haven’t been going for a certain look. But without the fat, their muscles would look just as impressive as the body builders.

Wonder Woman is a girl and they usually have more body fat than men, so she wouldn’t necessarily look all that musclebound either.

One more think before I stop this rant ;)

Did you ever notice the difference between tennis girls just relaxing and then getting photographed in action when their muscles are flexed?

Here are some pictures of Maria Sharapova. She isn’t a huge girl like Serena. But you can really see a difference on that 3rd picture where she is hitting the ball with both hands. Especially the right arm which is doing the pulling. And on the relaxed pictures she just has normal girly arms.

                http://tensportsclub.com/maria-sharapova-siberian-siren/

                • Shoveler,

I agree with your comments. Keep in mind that we’re talking about an Amazonian Princess not a tennis player. I happen to believe that Gadot lacks the muscle tone indicative of a life in Amazonian combat training. Although, her tone does seem to accurately depict a lifestyle of tennis. :^) Cheers. #believability

                  • I just remembered how mush bigger their arms look in action. I know it’s not excactly the same. But I wouldn’t like to get hit by one of them ;)

                  • @writer/director

Um, 2 things. Why are we talking about “Amazonians” as if they are real? And are we on twitter now??

                    • Amazons were real, were they like the comic Amazons? No, that is a seriously exaggerated depiction, but a society of women warriors, absolutely.

                    • @il princerino I’ve agreed with a lot you have said but i have to chime in on this one so maybe you can continue to help educate these willful people complaining about this awesome image. “Real” Amazons are a thing of greek mythology and classic antiquity….meaning old philosophers and historians of olden times talked about them (and they were possibly from an area hypothosized to be north africa, the ukraine, and a couple of other places depending on what 1000 year old story tell you want to listen to or even believe…..like King Arthur stuff or Beowolf….maybe based of something real…probably just superstitions thrown at any warrior woman of unknown origin back then……and these guys have a hardcore image of what they want….none of which is close to the comic depictions (which IS definitely NOT always the lame ass Lynda Carter get up..especially before leaving the island)…idk….they’ll ignore info and just call us geeks lol or claim they are writers/directors and they know better (even though they are totally incorrect in their assumptions and assertions). Good day buddy

                    • @ IL Princerino…i agree with you and shoveler a lot arond here bud but yeah amazons are about as “real” as King Arthur or Beowulf…even in classic antiquity they were a thing of legend and could have been from north africa according to some or the ukraine according to others…it’s a amalgamation of classic woman warriors..probably little basis in reality somewhere but definitely not any depictions than possibly on the side of a vase or two

                    • @ your point?
oh I know that actual Amazons were probably not real, but like you were saying that historically speaking, there are societies that were largely matriarchal and did have women warriors, like the Sarmatians or the Celts.
And even King Arthur had several real life bases, so its not outside the realm of possibility that such group existed.

                • I don’t believe this depiction is disagreeable..

                  http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hiCZxQE_lc0/UmcFmRhQmAI/AAAAAAAALls/0K0XZlZK3zo/s1600/Wonder+Woman+art%252C+via+Comic+Vine.jpg

                  • I do like that one too, but I could imagine the bikini bottom would be akward in live action.

Is that woman based on a real person or fictional?

                    • exactly. Shoveler. gain you have sense…that pic is a fictional cgi human. lol@#believability #ArmchairInternetWriters/Directors

@ writer/director. You do know she is powered by magic? that picture you posted looks more like Gadot than Gina Cerrano and that picture probably acts better too…..

http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/3/36774/2515431-wonder_women_by_penichet_d47up0l.jpg here truer to this movie and less complaining and begging for what you think wonder woman and amazons look like #ActorsThatLookThePartAndCanAct #suspensionofdisbelief #waitandseeinsteadofbitching #Fyourhashtag lol how old are you?

                    • @ Shoveler – what isn’t fictional in this thread? Responses here are based on fiction whether in antiquity or contemporary context.

@ your point? – was that a swipe?? lol Laughable…

                    • The ignorance of condescending of your statements is what’s laughable. No matter how you try to insult your worthless

                    • @Writer/Director

The image is of course a rendition of a fictional character. I was trying to ask if the likeness of the character was based on anybody real like for example an actress?

                    • *you’re worthless as a writer/director/person. lol damn phone died.

The discussion was not about a fictional person but about Gal Gadot, a real woman that you and your ilk seem intent on discrediting with nonsense about size and actresses that are “better” suited…and comparing her to 1: actresses she is bigger than if you’d google or use something other than the fiction in your head and 2: renderings of your favorite wonder woman depiction. Fact is people have shared in the spirit of decency and common sense, and me personally, i made fun of your “#believibility”.. neither which seems to affect your bias and condescending attitude. You’re only acknowledgement came in the form of saying that their idea of looking combat ready differs than theirs…I’m pretty sure you have never seen a woman in the military..they arent ripped and neither are the men for that matter…you post a cgi rendering and then you get insulted because. We laugh @ you buddy deal with it

                    • @ Shoveler Honestly, I couldn’t tell you what inspired that rendition. She certainly seems warrior like without the overkill.

@ your point? – I actually grew up in a military family. I know what people look like when they complete boot camp => Lean, toned, and ready for combat. Nice try though.

                    • @Writer/Director I AM PROUD MARINE currently serving my country. Don’t get disrespectful or arrogant. Typical, people with opinions and little to no experience or knowledge. If your father was a barber does that mean you know anything about hair? You are beyond ridiculous. Nice try though. Besides, her record speaks for itself, anything else you try to throw in there is just your speculation and misinformation. I can’t believe you tried to use “i grew up in military family. What a disgrace.

                    • @Writer/Director I AM A PROUD MARINE currently serving my country. Don’t get disrespectful or arrogant. Typical, people with opinions and little to no experience or knowledge. • I am from a military family as well @writer/director and I served 9 years proudly in the Army. You have no idea what you are taling about. Many of the strongest guys didn’t look ripped EVER. Their natural body comp decided that. Actual training makes the muscles solid and ready for use. It’s different than the bodybuilder look you claim is the norm. It’s not. This is common knowledge to anyone not in fairy tale land.

                    • @Writer-Director I have to chime in on this. I grew up with men and women in my family in the military and though I never served, I know what you are saying is not true at all. Most people in the military (after basic training) are “Lean, toned, and ready for combat.”…and many if not most of the woman look like Gadot does. Not whatever you are claiming.

                    • Way off topic but… in the spirit of thread redirection…

“@ your point? – I actually grew up in a military family. I know what people look like when they complete boot camp => Lean, toned, and ready for combat. Nice try though.”

@ your point? – it’s plain to see there is nothing disrespectful about my post. And IF you are a Devil Dog then thank you for your service. Regarding this thread… your posts on this site indicate you like to hijack threads with aggressive banter. I hope you find a better use for your time.

@ Nosferatu – IF you aren’t an alias for @ your point?… thank you for your service. About my post.. you must be confused… where did I endorse a “bodybuilder” look?? I’ve made no such post. Just clarifying.

@ Johnny5 – Gadot looks “thin” moreso than toned or warrior like… I don’t see any muscle tone and my impression of her before this film is here: http://noarmycanstopanidea.com/wonder-woman-gal-gadot-signed-for-three-movies-with-warner-bros-pics/ If that is your impression of lean, tone, and ready for combat after boot camp then we just happen to disagree. It happens. I know that she did complete Israeli military defense training but I couldn’t find a pic of her to see what she looked like. As you can see in the thread, I’m one of the people on here who think she looks more like a runway model than an Amazonian Princess warrior.

                    • @Writer/Director. Your posts on this site indicate YOU like to hijack threads with aggressive banter. I actively discourage your ilk from filling the thread here with the one thing YOU post about over and over, you dislike of Gadot, the costume, and her general everything. I participate in the conversation that actually is the topic of the thread and converse with others. This is not what you are doing. So again, you act as though you are an intellectual with yourbanter but are nothing more than trolling your same vitriol over and over. disguise it how you want. All of us here that have been around here know who is passionate and who is a hack(that would be you buddy).

                    • @your point? … Yaawwnnn…. Once people read your posts, they’ll see for themselves… I don’t have to lift a finger on that one.

                    • @Writer/Director … Yaawwnnn…. Once people read your posts, they’ll see for themselves… I don’t have to lift a finger on that one. You are a troll, here to hate on the actress that was chosen. All of your post are about this. All of my post counter it and other crazy cry babies. You should just stop

                    • @Writer/Director By the way any of us that have been around here for a long time immediately recognize your ilk. Thats why all of your comments are the exact same insults to the character and to those that point out the errors in your perception of Wonder Woman. You can make all the comments you want as if you are a regular or actually participate in conversations, you dont. You havent been around here. You are not respected or known to anyone but your fake profiles you make to cosign your rigid opinions

                    • @your point? I just happened across this site so I’m clearly not a regular. I must say that your recent tantrum regarding my posts just made me feel sorry for you. I won’t need to say why because anyone reading them will understand. Good luck. #gameover

                    • the fact you are looking for a #gameover shows you were never here for discussion. The fact you call calling you out on BS a tantrum shows you are narcissistic and irrational. Fact is everyone here knows exactly what type of person you are. No hashtag needed. again @Writer/Director By the way any of us that have been around here for a long time immediately recognize your ilk. Thats why all of your comments are the exact same insults to the character and to those that point out the errors in your perception of Wonder Woman. You can make all the comments you want as if you are a regular or actually participate in conversations, you dont. You havent been around here. • @Writer/Director
Get real.. I’ve been reading this thread and the whole conversation and “Your Point” is right. You say you happened on this site. Well you obviously are here to troll your opinion. Everything I have seen from you is the exact same post saying that other people’s perceptions are wrong. Your dismissive responses followed by telling that guy you feel sorry for him is repugnant. He is right about Wonder Woman and what this whole article is about. You are wrong. You are the worst kind of person. Please leave screenrant. Your Point, thanks for putting this guy in his place.

                    • @Writer/Director. I am Nosferatu. Your Point is Your Point…and thankfully, neither one of us are YOU.

I don’t think you understand the meaning of the word tantrum or are just making the lamest attempt at ACTING like you are the bigger man when in actuality, you are completely deluded and petty.

Fake intellectual superiority online presented in psuedo-film/artistic rhetoric about believability and suspension of disbelief AND making your screen name “writer/director” does not make you an authority of anything. You have been wrong at every point. You obviously would have cast a terrible choice for Wonder Woman with your limited knowledge of the character. Your opinion,n which you state as if fact, shows it.

The only thing Your Point was wrong about was even wasting the time to argue with you when you are obviously just here to troll your #childish hashtags LMAO You are sad.

                    • +1 Your Point

                  • Ooooohhhhh!, I like that!!!

                    Very, VERY nice.

    • And anime also has women with absurdly long legs, and ankles so thin and frail they’d break when she took a step. Gal Gadot doesn’t seem she is able to put on any muscle mass. She still looks like a Pez dispenser.

  9. Gal looks freakin amazing. Can’t wait to see her in IMAX 3D.And her boots aren’t knee high, those are greave they protect your shins, you saw Brad Pitt wearing’em in TROY.I know Kal-el is destined to be with Louis cos of the comics but I’d love see him end up Lana.

  10. Writer/Director
H2h & armed combat training from childhood doesn’t increase the size of muscles, it only tones them. There’s no way muscle gain can be achieved without lifting weights. The type of training determines muscle one gains, not time in training.

    • Correct! You’re echoing my posted comments. (see above) I agree that muscle tone should be more apparent in who they cast for Wonder Woman. Anyone posting that she should be “musclebound” or “bulky” wants a guy for the role. A size 2 model with hardly any muscle tone won’t cut it either. Clearly, an Amazonian princess should look like an Amazonian Princess. #believability

  11. For those that haven’t noticed, Gal’s arms look bigger & bader than Jaimie Alexander. Just wondering why people don’t complain about her since she was probably their first choice. Some of these comments are clearly biased.

    • @Bryan

LOL, I know. One person commented on how Jamie Alexander should have gotten it instead of this “midget.” A quick online search would have told him that both of them are the exact same height, and Gadot’s arms are bigger than Alexander’s when she was in Thor… So yah, obviously his brain is playing tricks on him, haha. I replied to that comment, but heard nothing back yet. :-P

      • @Ken J my man, these guys don’t care abut facts or know what Google is. They just want to complain. My favorite is that “Gadot looks nothing like Wonder Woman” She actually is a great Wonder Woman -the comic book character, exotic, dark hair, deceptively strong, look great in warrior costume -which again, most of these people have apparently never seen on WW….. Who or what is more Wonder Woman than Gal Gadot? Unless for these people Wonder Woman is a just a pair of b00bs in a onesie(that’s really where all this hate comes from, everything else can be googled and seen to be craziness, ie hieght, weight, training concerns, etc compared to their “fan”boy favorites including Lynda Carter.) I’ve come to the conclusion these people aren’t fans of or aware of the comic book character

  12. Lipstick on a pig, she still can’t act

  13. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!! I would have been totally exited to see a Wonder Woman movie, but after seeing this?? Nvm. They totally killed it. Wheres wonder women?? I don’t see anything like her here.

  14. The costume would look better with an actual amazon in it :-( I think I’ll sit this one out.

    • yay, one less ass that doesnt know what he is talking about . enjoy your mother’s basemenbt http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/3/36774/2515431-wonder_women_by_penichet_d47up0l.jpg

    • @LG

An actual amazon in it? You mean one of those imaginary people that don’t actually exist and never existed? How do they look like? lol

      • @Ken J exactly buddy almost spot on. Theyre a thing of greek mythology and classic antiquity….meaning old philosophers and historians of old talked about them (and they were possibly from an area hypothosized to be north africa, the ukraine, and a couple of other places depending on what 1000 year old story tellyou you want to listen to or even believe…..like King Arthur stuff or Beowolf….maybe based of something real…probably just superstitions thrown at any warrior woman of unknown origin back then……and these guys have a hardcore image of what they want….none of which is close to the comic depictions (which IS definitely NOT always the lame ass Lynda Carter get up..especially before leaving the island)…idk….they’ll ignore info and just call us geeks lol

  15. I want this to be a good film but they shouldn’t be rushing pictures out the release date is little under two years away and She doesn’t look toned/defined enough at the moment and you also have to think of her standing beside Henry Cavil aka Superman and/or Batman who both have suits that can make them appear bigger.
She just doesn’t look the part currently, she’s a warrior not a model.

The outfit would look better in my opinion if the skirt was longer (if their going with a skirt) as it kind of looks like a bathing suit currently whatever about the colors they can always be changed.
Still reserving any actually what the hell!!! for a trailer as people should…

  16. Man I still can’t beleive that they picked Gal Gadot for Wonder Woman she simply doesn’t fits in this role. As others suggested before Jaimie Alexander would have been a better pick but obviously her contract with Marvel doesen’t allows her to play in a DC/WB movie but there are other actresses how would qualify better for this role like Nadia Bjorlin she has the looks for it and I think she got more talent than Gadot. I don’t say that she would be the best pick but she would be much better than Gadot. And what about Lex why the hell did they pick Jesse Eisenberg? Are they dumb or blind or what???? Actually I think this movie will fail, big time. The only actor in lead roles who isn’t wrong is Henry Cavill.

    • I think they picked Jesse Eisenberg because they want a Lex who is about the same age as Superman and also a type of real-world villain.

I am not saying Mark Zuckerberg (who Jesse Eisenberg portrayed) is a villain, but he has in a way become the image of a ruthless (even sociopathic?) internet billionaire that has build a financial empire in no time.

If you mix that sort of online power and succes with the media scandal of Rubert Murdoch’s News of the World, then you got an image of a modern day villain who’s power and means to do evil arises from his influence in world wide media. And money of course.

I think this Lex will be a manipulator and a creator of threats rather than a hands-on guy. So Jesse seems like a good choice to me.

      • The Shoveler , once again dropping jewels on fools. That is what anyone with sense is sure they were going for since they announced this casting and that is a legitimate take on Lex Luger that any person should be able to understand. And I get what you are say. Eisenberg plays that well. Now here’s to wishes & hopes…..I hope he takes it up a notch and isnt just Eisenberg playing Zuckerberg playing Lex Luther. Heck I kind of hope they have some surprises for us like Eisenberg puts on a few pounds of muscle, loses some hair over the course of time, and builds a battle suit akin to Batman’s as he grows crazier and crazier in his pursuit of power.

        • Hmmm… this is what I am thinking:

A superintelligent Lex would be an opposit to Superman’s physical powers. He could be the one guy that doesn’t think of Superman as a superior being because he’d just see him as a big dumb jock. Sure, Superman’s more powerful than the average jock, but just as dumb if you ask a guy like Lex.

And in my eyes this Lex wouldn’t desire to become physically strong himself. It would almost be beneath him to go into that kind of battle with Superman. For him it would be about proving that his brains is so much more than Superman’s brawn.

But on the other hand I could also imagine a version of Lex that is indeed superintelligent but also desires the kind of power and strength that he hasn’t been blessed with himself. Maybe he has lived the life of many a nerd and witnessed time and time again how the brawny guys have been handed everything from scollarships to girls, and as illogical as it may seem because he has gotten so much more succesful since, he might feel compelled to seek ways to become physically powerful himself.

So I could see ways of making both versions happen. But I personnaly prefer the contrast of brains vs. brawn. I also think he’d be a much bigger threat that way.

And if Lex is that kind of villain, it also makes room for other (physically powerful) villains for Superman to fight. So we’d still get to see Superman throwing punches with somebody.

          • I agree. In execution it makes more sense that way than to have Eisenberg do a body makeover and it even plays into the modern tech craze. I could see ways of making both versions happen..but I totally agree with and believe what you said to be the direction they are heading.

  17. Roecosan116
    LOL!!!
Current Gal is bigger than Jaimie Alexander & I don’t want another Brit or American portraying WW at all.

  18. I mean, I’ll be honest. Since I saw the first Wonder Woman TV Show with Lynda Carter in the late 1970s early 1980s while wearing my Wonder Woman Underoos, brown snow boots, and standing with arms akimbo for the entire episode, I’ve thought the only good Wonder Woman is me! I’m short, black, and highly educated, but I don’t care. I refuse to watch a modern Wonder Woman incarnation until they cast me in the role.

    • +100!

      lol :-)

    • I have a great new camera and a great script called Wonder Woman V Batman: Dawn of S&M if you are interested? currently casting :)

  19. Honestly I don’t like the look of Wonder Woman because she seems too dark. I don’t like the fact her costume is not original like Superman or Batman. Why!!!

  20. The other half of my comment was cut off but smithing I personally don’t like is that the actress who is portraying Wonder Woman is thin not thick like an Amazonian woman should be like.

  21. Yeah this is totally ripped off from Xena.

    • Xena was a ripoff of Wonder Woman. Your point? You can’t even see the real colors on the costume.

      • there is no use telling these guys. they just want to complain, even when it’s unjustified

  22. What don’t people understand about the fact that Gina Carano and Jamie Alexander are horrible choices for Wonder Woman. She is AMAZONIAN, not AMERICAN. She is meant to look exotic and toned. Not like she won a Miss USA bodybuiling tournament.

    • AGREED!!

    • I dont understand why people dont get that. Gina Carano and Jamie Alexander are horrible choices for Wonder Woman. Almost every compliment they give those two is false info or speculation. Gadot is bigger and better shape than Jamie Alexander and Cerranno is horrible actress that would pull the whole movie down or reduce wonder woman to an extra

      • And not to mention the fact that neither of them look exotic like a warrior race should. And seriously, if anyone actually took the time to loom at New 52 Wonder Woman, or JL/JLU Wonder Woman, they would see that she’s toned and agile, not a fricking MMA fighter. When have you ever seen Wonder Woman illustrated as short and stocky as Gina Carrano?

        • @InsertSnarkyUsername so true lol

  23. Is that Kim Kardashian?

    • Are you sober?

    • WTF is this guy talking about? I hate trolls

  24. lose the leather strap and its not so bad was expecting worse

  25. Yawn

  26. Horrible! Offensive!

WHEN will DC/WB STOP maligning and maliciously STOP destroying it’s own works?!

This woman is NO Wonder Woman! Wonder GIRL, possibly….Wonder WOMAN, NO!

The costume is pathetic, not to mention ugly and brazenly UNartistic.

DC/WB just keep digging a bigger grave for themselves with all of these WRONG people cast in the WRONG costumes.

    • Maybe when you stop complaining over a fine adaption of several versions of her comic book outfit.

Have you seen the movie? Have you seen her act in the movie? No, so stop talking about how they’re “digging themselves a bigger grave” when only they know how well she acted in her audition. Do you really think DC would’ve picked her to play the MOST RECOGNIZED FICTIONAL WOMAN OF ALL TIME if she couldn’t act the part?

  27. I have to admit that it is a little bit funny to see how many people in this thread that want a live action Wonder Woman to be a wrestler in a bikini bottom ;)

    • I concur. Again, it’s evident that people are totally self centered now days even in what they want out of their media. There is no room to enjoy it for what it is and trust the directors and writers as artists. This is something I’m always vying for once the “haters” get started. They’ll stick with their fantasy castings and junk theories about why “someone” is wrong for the part even though they know nothing of the character, even if their vision would debase the whole quality of product…In this case, I think we will get the Onsie Bikini/Traditional look eventually.. but the naysayers are not looking for this character to be introduced as Diana from Princess island and transition into the WW we know. Shows their lack of understanding the character history AND lack of vision of how the character probably should develop onscreen along side/inside MOS-verse

  28. yea, the costume design as a whole is good but the colors should remain true to the original. I’m one who grew up with these characters wearing their colors! Don’t take the colors away! Geez! Keep her a true patriot and you’ll keep more fans!

    • Diana is not (WAS not) American. Red, white, and blue had more to do with a courtesy than her heroic stature. If she were to show patriotism, it would be to her home isle…perhaps, by extension, Greece.

      • It’s an understandable confusion as the stars on the bikini bottom and the eagle across her chest basically makes her look like a female Captain America, but I totally agree that she isn’t american and it makes perfect sense to tweak it.

Also, it’s npt like these characters have never changed colors or costumes. People should just take a good look at Batman through the ages.

  29. To all those that say she should not have red and blue because she is not american…her people adopt the colors of the nation they are an ambassador to. Thayer why she needs the red and the blue of the usa.

    • There is no indication that she has already become (or will ever be, in the cinematic universe) an ambassador to the U.S., so the colors STILL might not be reflective of any particular affiliation.

      • how ever if she has left the island then she is now an ambassador, and should have the host countries colors. sure WB can basically make there own hero and back story, but then it really wouldnt be wonder woman.

        • No…One does not become an ambassador simply by leaving one country and entering another, nor by merely being sent by one nation to another. There are diplomatic issues to iron out…paperwork, negotiation, etc. Also, the U.S. in this cinematic world would perform SOME kind of security/background check on her…or at least TRY to do so.

As it stands, we don’t have any real idea of WHAT her backstory will be, but it will not necessarily involve an ambassadorship (at the very least, likely not initially). If the particular rumor about this point is true, she may, in fact, have been operating secretly. NONE of this would lessen her characterization as THE Wonder Woman we have read about and watched all these years…

          • Archaeon, again with valid points of reason that only someoe intent on being negative (about a depiction we literally know nothing of yet) would contest. All very valid points. More than likely we will see her transition from island to mainland. Also, again, the uniform IS red white and blue already but the picture has a bronze glaze to it. The fact that people are stressing how red, white and blue or “American” she needs to be shows their own ignorance about the character history or unwarranted xenophobic/nationalist rhetoric. Woder Woman is not American and just like Superman, she represents honor and justice for ALL. Not just AMERICANS. Not just White Americans lol.. and I say that because, no, she herself is not a white american woman and should not be portrayed as one on screen.
