The final full trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine debuted two weeks ago but that hasn’t stopped the marketing machine for this blockbuster film that’s set to open the Summer movie season.
A brand new one-minute TV spot for this Wolverine spin-off film was released yesterday and it changes up the format of what we’ve seen so far from the movie’s teasers. This one, while mostly re-hashing scenes we’ve already seen to the same background music, tries to showcase many of the X-characters that are appearing in this film.
I find that the trailer doesn’t show any new exciting material and it pales in comparison to the full length trailers.
Watch and see for yourself:
Deadpool’s name was noticeably absent – does that mean Cyclops and Emma are playing bigger roles than his character in the film? Weapon XI was also not mentioned, but that could be because “Weapon XI” just doesn’t sound cool.
What do you think of this TV Spot?
X-Men Origins: Wolverine opens May 1, 2009 and I’ll be there. Don’t forget to check out our discussion on Fox’s treatment of famous X-characters in this Wolverine film.
Around the web:

Seems to be some coincidence that the two characters everyone seems to think might be the same character happen to be the very same two left out of the trailer.
lol Emma Frost LMAO!!!!!!!!
a) Give us Deadpool damn it! We want Deadpool!
b) Feels slightly Oceans 11-ish with a team of awesome guys getting together to do awesome stuff.
Why all the speculation? It’s going through post production. If a teaser or full trailer were to show every bit and every character, then what would be the point of seeing the true flick? Come on people, enough whining, it’s better to wait and see rather than assume.
Quick correction: They didn’t mention Wraith either, right?
Wow, seem like that final part after the film’s logo when Wolverine takes out his claws and Sabretooth says “Oh, shiny!” have been visually corrected (the claws looked really fake in the previous teasers).
@ Iron Knight,
Ya that CGI claws bothered me too from the previous trailers but I can’t tell if they’re better here because of the resolution and quality.
I saw the questionable Deadpool action figure today and the photo was accurate. According to the bio on the back of the package, Deadpool was created by Stryker to be the ultimate killing machine and his first target is Wolverine. That definitely supports the theory of him becoming weapon XI. Hopefully he can still somehow be reverted to the familiar Deadpool we know and love by the end of the movie. I believe he will because Fox loves spin-offs.
Nothing new hear…marketing execs at FOX are at their creative best again..**Sarcasm**
What happend to Dominic Mognihan as Beak?
@ TheMantis,
They’ve not revealed one picture or clip of his character and we’ve seen no toy images either.
I have a feeling he’ll be the strangest character in the movie and not much screen time.
Just look at the picture of him from the comics:

Ithink with the Cyclops angle, you notice that he’s much younger here like in his teens..If you remember his comic book origin, he had partnered with the “living diamond” and got involved in some criminal stuff before Xavier got a hold of him..So what I’m seeing in the trailer that this is prior to Xavier’s school, I guess they are trying to tie his origin with Wolverines so to speak instead of what the comic book put out..the only similarity is the train station…
@LordThanos,
Umm, what’s so funny about Emma?
But yea, did it look like the blob, wasn’t really the “blob” I mean, I couldn’t really make it out from that short clip
