Warning! Spoilers ahead for Dark Ages #4

In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' Dark Ages, Logan's daughter Laura Kinney has perfected one of Wolverine's classic moves alongside her sister Gabby. Taking place in an alternate reality where the world has been subjected to a consistent planet-wide EMP, Marvel's heroes assembled to forge a new society, rejecting the expected dystopia in favor of a utopia (despite the world losing electricity). However, there are still dangers and threats out there, and the successors of Wolverine's legacy are on the front lines using an upgraded version of one of Logan's most popular moves.

In Marvel's Dark Ages from writer Tom Taylor and Iban Coello, the majority of civilization has been reformed under the direction of the world's heroes, making Wakanda a refuge as a new world capital. However, Apocalypse has taken over Europe, having recruited several supervillains to his cause while also corrupting heroes thanks to Zebediah Killgrave, The Purple Man. Furthermore, the dangerous monsters who operate in the dark such as Dracula's vampires are bolder in this darker world. In response, Wakanda has the perfect border patrol team consisting of Elsa Bloodstone, Blade the Vampire Hunter, Laura Kinney's Wolverine, and her sister Gabby (also known as Scout or Honey Badger).

Now, a rescue mission is underway in the new Dark Ages #4, seeing Wakanda's heroes looking to save those whom Apocalypse has taken captive. However, while they sail for Europe on a helicarrier that no longer flies, the heroes are attacked by marauding Ghost Riders of the sea. With all hands on deck to repel the fiery pirates, Laura and Gabby enter the fray with a classic Wolverine move alongside Colossus: the Fastball Special. However, the duo quite literally doubles down, having Colossus throw them simultaneously to dish out twice the damage.

While the fate of Logan is unknown in this alternate timeline, it certainly seems as though Laura and Gabby are honoring his legacy quite well after this battle with the Ghost Raiders. Not only are they keeping the Fastball Special alive, but they're doing the move together, improving upon it and maximizing the damage. It's also quite a testament to Colossus and his impressive strength.

With Dark Ages still having two more issues to go, it will be interesting to see if readers learn what happened to Logan in this alternate future. Has he been corrupted by the Purple Man as well, leading to a potential face-off between Wolverine, Laura, and Gabby before the series ends? Readers will just have to wait and see as Dark Ages continues.
