• I'm just not in love with the trailer. It was kind of wet blanket to me, and I hadn't even heard all the negative press the film had gotten before I saw it. The casting is strange (as an ensemble)and the trailers premise is choppy, as well as the CGI being questionable to me. I can hope for good, but am less than enchanted by this trailer.

I''m with Terence on this for commenting. Though they are remaking AAWWIL, which I am really looking forward to. I'm ready to start seeing GOOD horror movies again. It's been too long.
  • Terence
I would have to say that this movie looks really good, Benico Del Toro looks like a perfect fit for the role. I can't wait for this movie to come out, there has not been a great werewolf movie to come out since An American Werewolf in London. I think that this movie is really going to be good.
  • Jason Charles
    The best werewolf movie. EVER!!!!!!!
  • jago
this is very different from the trailer that i saw last year...
  • George Salis
I thought i saw smeagle lol
  • the old man
It'll make an excellent home theater rental on some cold rainy October night. About a year after its theatrical release. Get a few jumpy women to watch it with you. Especially whose radar it never fell on! It be a hoot..
  • Thandrale
I've never liked any wolfman films where the man turns entirely into a wolf with the long snout and running on all fours.

The Lon Chaney original is still my favorite where you can still see the man through the wolf. It somehow heightens the horror and the tragedy of it.
  • Steve Brown
I can't wait for this. It's been 25yrs since we saw a decent man to wolf transformation ala An American Werewolf in London, The Howling or The Company of Wolves and I'm hoping this gets it right.
Werewolves are my favourite of any horror genre but since CG took over there haven't been any good films. Some half way decent stabs at them but if this gets that mix of animatronics enhanced with CG, for the effects right, then roll on 2010. This has more of the feel of the Oliver Reed classic, The Curse of the Werewolf, which is no bad thing. Great cast too.

p.s. if anyone knows any other films, that I may have missed, that feature decent transformations then let me know.

anything with emily blunt and im there ;)

oh and the wolfman looks cool too

    @ prtfvr

he he, well sorry but the trailer for new moon and that guy changing into a were dog was like fail sauce to me he he.

Yeh underworld's Lycans were cool, but i'd have to say that what they have here in this film looks better than that
  • prtfvr
    @SIN187UN

You know what you're saying is heresy about Twilight and New Moon and anything related to that franchise, right? LOL

I like werewolves. Very fond of them actually. Although I didn't see the Lycan movie, I wanted to but haven't caught it yet. I was sorry that they killed Michael Sheen off in the other movie. He was a bad ass!
  • SIN187UM
    @ prtfvr

I dunno, I'm sure there will be some sap seeing how as Del Toro does have a love interest in the film. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that maybe the character of Del Toro's mother is from Spain, since its not far fetched that englishmen took Spanish wives back in the day. Pfft New Moon, you mean where that guy basically turned into the Were-Dog from Cursed.

---------------------------------------------- Break for my general rant------

Sorry but I'm a fan of Lycans/Were-Wolves and turning into a wolf just makes him a lowly
shape-shifter to me. Again i say pffft to New Moon and the whole twilight Saga as well as Blood and Chocolate
  • prtfvr
    @SIN187UM

No worries. I never write my name in caps. I draw enough attention just by typing. :D

LOL about the muzzle. I'm not sure about del Toro. I wish they could have moved the story somewhere that he wouldn't stand out for NOT having an accent or having an accent depending on which side of the pond you're on. Maybe they'll explain that he's been away or something. Who knows.

Either way it'll be competing with New Moon which is also about werewolves in addition to your garden variety vampires. The difference being that I'm assuming Wolfman won't be a sappy, teenage love story. That'd be nice.
  • SIN187UM
    @ prtfvr

Forgot caps was on when I typed your handle, sorry. I was personally hoping for him to come out in muzzle like in SIlence of the lambs, and then he could use it to restrain Del toro during the change. SIgh wishes never come true. :(

    @SIN187UM

First, no need to yell. Second, I know it's been a long time since Dracula. That was apparently an attempt at humor that fell flat. I thought it was such an obvious thing that I didn't need to hammer the point home by saying "And Dracula was made X amount of years ago."

I thought it had enough irony that on a site with people who watch movies would get it. It was a joke. You know, where you say something that's silly or the opposite of what you mean. In this case I meant that there will never be enough time between Dracula and any other movie with that type of role for Anthony Hopkins. He seems to be playing the same person and all I can think is "Oh, Anthony Hopkins is FOR the supernatural this time." I hate that.

I hope that helps. They can't all be gems you know.

I'll go against the grain with ya Longshanks. This does nothing for me.
I've never been into the classic Universal monsters.
Dracula, Wolf man, Mummy and Frankstien.
    Yawwwnnnn,,,,,,
  • Worm in the Grass
This looks like an excellent attempt at recreating the ultimate classic monster.
  • Longshanks
I'm gonna go against the grain and say that I really couldn't care less about this movie. It does have a pretty good cast, and hopefully the story is pretty good, but in the end,it's still The Wolfman, which I've always found to be quite lame.

I'll give it a chance though and hope that it's good.
  • SIN187UM
    @PRTFVR

Um what are u talking about? It will be 18 years since Bram Stoker's Dracula was released. The only similarity is that he looks like a dirty old man in a dirty old cape.

Don't hate cuz he's starring in a movie about the superior being THE LYCAN :P
  • JessSayin
Loved it. Lon Chaney Jr. would love it.

    Bring it!!
  • prtfvr
    First off @790: ROTFL!

Second: Anthony Hopkins hanging out with werewolves now? It hasn't been enough years between this and Bram Stoker's Dracula if you ask me. He's the same guy, again, only he appears to be on the other side. I really like Anthony Hopkins, truly but not another crazy Van Helsing-type role!! VAN HELLLLSIIIINGGGG!!
  • SIN187UM
THIS BETTER BE RATED F-IN R. Finally some decent transformation and effects in the same vein as The Howling and An AMerican Werewolf in London.
  • 790
I'm gonna need me some 3rd gen night vision specs and a AR-15 with armor piercing bullets,,,
I'll take care of your Wolfman problem Shamus!. Arg!!!!
  • Iron Knight
Good... this is turning into a good day. Hey, anyone knows if the teaser for Inception will be released tomorrow on the web too?
  • ogb
    Surprisingly good.

Vampires are getting played out really fast (thanks Twilight) so I am looking forward to this.
  • Michael
it looks pretty much hardcore, seeing a werewolf movie kind of makes me want to see "The Werewolf" (and old short story) get turned into a movie
  • i agree with TIM What a cast !

and i am also very intrigued by the Plot.

That and now those twilight loving fans.

can see what a real werewolf and/or wolf man
    looks like !
  • perontoc
With all of the controversy surrounding this movie, and the reshoots, i am actually very impressed by this trailer, but i still wish that there was a less is more attitude in showing the creature.

but so far i'll put this one on the list of must sees!
  • Mike
I have always loved werewolf movies and feel they are the unecessary butt of the horror franchise. The wolfman looks like a thrill ride classic to say the least. And with all the hoopla surrounding the new twilight movie and the teen lust vamp shows on tv networks, its time for the beasts to take over.

The original wolfman with Lon Chaney Jr. is the BEST version. The next is An AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, followed by Hammer studios Mark of the Wolf or something with the wolman. But this remake looks killer and I cant wait!!!
