Dancing With The Stars fans are defending professional dancer Mark Ballas' mom, Shirley Ballas. Mark is one of the original pro dancers on the show. After taking some time off from the dancing competition, he returned this year for DWTS season 31. Mark is currently partnered with TikTok superstar, Charli D'Amelio.
Mark and Charli have continued to run the leaderboard following Dancing With The Stars' '90s Night. Despite their success in the ballroom, viewers of the show do not always have nice things to say about the dancing duo. After a Twitter user, who has since deleted their original tweet, threw shade at Mark and Charli, Mark's mom Shirley came to her son's defense. Many DWTS fans rallied around Shirley to show their support.
Mark's Mom Didn't Have Time For Hate Toward Her Son & Charli
On Twitter, the user came at Shirley's son Mark, saying, "Charli is BORING! And Mark with that dirty long hair..." Shirley went into mamma bear mode, and responded with a lengthy tweet reading, "Your message is not constructive in any way. Attacking a persons' appearance that's my son you're talking about." While the two-time Mirror Ball Trophy winner did not respond to the hate, his mother was more than happy to come to his defense. DWTS fans not only agreed with Mark's mom Shirley, but also praised her in a Reddit thread started by Excellent-Medicine29, which included a screenshot of the fan's original tweet before it was deleted. One user responded and said, "WOW that tweet is just so unnecessarily hateful. Good for Shirley for saying something!"
Not only is Mark one of the original professional dancers on the show, but he is also one of the best. DWTS season 31 is Mark's first season back in the ballroom in five years. He last competed during season 27, when he was partnered with Lindsey Stirling. With two Mirror Ball trophies on his resume, he is nearing his third Dancing With The Stars win. Although Charli is upset her mom has been eliminated from the competition, she and Mark are just one week away from taking home the ultimate win.
No matter how well a dancing duo performs in the competition, there will always be some type of hate on the internet from viewers. While all the stars and pro dancers will receive it at some point, not all of them have a mom like Mark's who willingly shuts down the haters. With the Dancing With The Stars finale quickly approaching, Mark doesn't have time to be focusing on the negative comments online.
