One of the most positive receptions at Comic-Con was for Where the Wild Things Are. There was quite a bit of footage shown for the film and it looks like it will have enough heart for three movies. It looks like Spike Jonze has managed to take a childrens book that takes about 60 seconds to read and turn it into a really excellent feature film.

The first trailer came out back in March, and folks have been waiting for a new one – and here it is:

The young boy is played by Max Records and he’s perfect as far as I’m concerned. This isn’t really the sort of film I’m into but it looks like it could be one of the best movies to come out this year.

Where the Wild Things Are opens on October 16th, 200.

  1. I am really looking forward to this movie.

  2. first time I saw the 1st trailer, my jaw dropped and I started to cry…..yeah I said it. This trailer does the same thing to me. Glad this movie was made.

  3. It could be great, but the Wild Things just don’t seem believable to me. The Muppet-factor’s too high.

  4. stuntmanj, I right there with you, bro.
    Oct.16 cannot come soon enough!

  5. This movie looks fantastic, I can’t wait to see it. And I just have to say, I love the last bit of he trailer with the really huge dog.

  6. ya i agree this was like the first book i ever read and i really enjoyed it. its rare you see a trailer of that quality these days, it lookes like the best film of the year by far and the story is so creative. cant wait!!!

  7. Maybe I’m biased, but I’m calling this movie for Best Picture Oscar!!

  8. i know the boy who plays max

  9. considering I have nearly shed a tear of joy each time I have watched both trailers, I can guarantee I will in the film. One of the best books ever.

  10. I can’t believe I put Family Guy on mute on my television to watch a movie trailer for Where The Wild Things Are, but I’m glad I did. The 1st trailer gave me goosebumps and this one did the same thing. Hopefully the finished product will have the same effect on me.
