Joss Whedon finally received some official recognition with his work on Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

On Saturday, (9/12/09) Joss Whedon won the Emmy for short-format live-action entertainment programs.  Way to go Joss!

This is his first Emmy and his 2nd such nomination.  His first Emmy nomination was for the silent episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode titled "Hush."  (That was one creepy good episode.)

Horrible was part of a new Emmy category recognizing what they call short-format-action-entertainment, which I presume is a category for web-shorts and other like entertainment.

Again, this is an awesome recognition for Joss Whedon and if you haven't caught this musical short yet, trust me, you won't be disappointed.  I went into it very tentatively because I'm not that fond of musicals, and just like the musical Buffy episode, "Once More With Feeling", it was pretty good.
