The reality show Bachelor in Paradise Canada premiered on October 10 on Citytv, and the cast features some American men and women. The "True North" version is very similar to the original Bachelor in Paradise series, with some special Bachelor in Canada twists. While producers have cast Canadian stars from the country's The Bachelor and The Bachelorette offshoots, there will be some familiar faces who are actually American. The Bachelor Canada has run for three seasons and The Bachelorette Canada has had one season. This year brings the very first season of Bachelor in Paradise Canada, with big hopes that the Northern branch of the franchise will flourish. The show has a new and rustic feel that adds plenty of excitement to the mix.
Whether they are from Canada or the United States, the show's attractive stars all have their reasons for eschewing the beloved BIP locale Playa Escondido to get romantic at the resort's Canadian cousin, Camp Paradise. Bachelor in Paradise Canada started promoting the new series by asking fans where they find their bliss in Canada. Series reps also asked people to tell them which cocktails they are enjoying by the fire. Here's hoping some of these Americans will find big love in Ontario.
Alex Bordyukov
First up is Alex Bordyukov from Detroit, Michigan. Alex hails from Rachel Lindsay’s The Bachelorette season 13. His long locks take the cake, and he's considered to have one of the dreamiest hairstyles in Bachelor Nation history.
Kamil Nicalek
Kamil Nicalek appeared on The Bachelorette. Kamil comes to Camp Paradise from Becca Kufrin’s season. He is a real estate agent who is originally from New York. While he caught headlines for attending a wedding with 90 Day Fiance's Ashley Martson, the two went to the event as friends. This means Kamil is single and ready to mingle.
Illeana Penetto
Next up is Illeana Pennetto from Matt James' The Bachelor season. Illeana is originally from New York City and works as an entrepreneur and model. This blond fashion plate is 5' 8" tall, with brown eyes. She is signed with the Wilhelmina modeling agency.
Angela Amezcua
Last but not least is popular franchise alum and model Angela Amezcua, who originally joined Bachelor Nation on Nick Viall’s season. Angela also competed on the original Bachelor in Paradise, where she connected with Eric Bigger. She thought the pairing would last because they were both very optimistic people, but the relationship never took off. However, it may be her hopeful spirit that's brought Angela from Greenville, South Carolina all the way to Camp Paradise. Angela dated Clay Harbor after Nick's season.
Ultimately, Angela has the most experience from the original Bachelor in Paradise and can hopefully provide some guidance for her new castmates throughout the season. She has let fans know that they should give one hundred percent of themselves while they're dating, and always be genuine. She doesn't believe in wasting another person's time. Angela thinks everyone is perfect and wants women to avoid dumbing themselves down while trying to connect romantically.
While the setting may be different, there's likely to be just as much BIP drama and heartache as there was on the original show. If they're lucky, the American cast members will have better luck finding love at Bachelor in Paradise Canada’s Camp Paradise they did at other franchise locations.
