FX is set to premiere What We Do in the Shadows later in March, but before that the cable network wants to introduce viewers to the show’s Staten Island vampires. The series may not star Taika Waititi or Jemaine Clement, like the 2014 film of the same name, but the two are nevertheless deeply involved with the project on the other side of the camera. That means audiences will get to meet a new group of hilarious bloodsuckers who came to the United States over 100 years ago and have just been sort of hanging out ever since.

So far the teasers and trailers for the new series have played up just how similar it is to the original film, and how well the concept of a vampiric mockumentary translates to something like a half-hour comedy on television. Much of that is owed to the series following the template set in place by the original movie, but it’s also a testament to the talented cast What We Do in the Shadows has assembled, and the characters each actor has created in turn.

As such, the new teaser, titled ‘History,’ works as a fun information dump ahead of the series premiere. In effect, it’s a fun way to introduce audiences to the cast, beginning with Kayvan Novak’s Nandor the Relentless, and continuing with Natasia Demetriou’s Nadja and Matt Berry’s Laszlo. Check out the new teaser below:

Sadly missing is Mark Proksch’s Colin Robinson, though he was featured prominently in the full trailer for the series just a few weeks back. An energy vampire, Colin is one of the funniest additions to the series, as he’s essentially an everday bore who just so happens to have supernatural powers. This new character, along with Nandor’s familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) help round out a very funny cast, but also give the show it’s own distinct point of view.

What We Do in the Shadows premieres at the end of March, so viewers can expect FX to ramp up its marketing until then. So far, it looks as though the network has a surefire winner on its hands, as the series promises to be a riotous new comedy.
