We went to see “Where The Wild Things Are” over the weekend, and I loved it, so did my niece (she’s 10) and my nephew (he’s 8). It was such a pleasant surprise, and the film stayed true to the book.

I also saw Law Abiding Citizen yesterday, and it was pretty good, overall. Plenty of suspense, and it was cool to see Gerard Butler play a bad guy.

It’s a pity about The Invention… I’d like to see more original ideas (even in a saturated genre) do well than sequels, adaptations and ‘movie-star vehicles’. Which makes Zombielands’ comparative success even better

Cradlewood sounds LAME LAME LAME LAME. The Trust also sounds like it would have me sleeping after the first 15 minutes.

Thanks for the wrap-up. I could not help but notice that you said Foxx and Butler’s last movies under performed. I agree Foxx’s movie The Solist and Butler’s Gamer did not perform well. But as a fan of romantic comedies, I noticed that Butler’s The Ugly Truth released in July has made $89 million domestically with a worldwide $170 million to date.
