I’m extremely torn on the studio continuing the Bourne films. On one hand, I love the films, and definitely want more of ‘em. But on the other, “The Bourne Ultimatum” was such a perfect ending to a three story arc.

That in itself, leads us to the next problem with continuing the franchise. Thus far, all three films were essentially one story. The driving force, the plot was about one thing (maybe two). Bourne regaining his memory and trying to make peace with it.

I’m sure they can do stand alone films, but after what happened in Ultimatum, Bourne was essentially absolved of the events of his past. He finally found peace and could finally live out the rest of his days.

I don’t know, I just have this nagging feeling that they’re going to mess up something so very perfect.

I agree I thought that ending it like they did was a good way to go. I think they are pushing it a bit. Dont get me wrong liked the movies but I think they are just kicking a dead horse now.

I saw Twilight and I was deeply impressed by the movie. Every movie needs work but I thought they did a pretty good job.

I do hope the Crazies turms out well and not just another horror film we can brush off.

I like the sound of The Book of Eli. This sounds like an intersting movie. Ill watch out for that.

I never could figure out why people liked Arrested Development. I was so glad when FOX cancelled that show. What a waste of a half an hour on Sunday nights. They’re current lineup is so much better. I have a feeling that an AD movie will tank just as bad as the show did.

*oops, my bad. I mean “their” not “they’re.” I apologize profusely. :P

I think the biggest problem in Hollywood, is they cant leave well enough. I am a fan of the Bourne series and found that Ultimatim was an excellent close. I really don’t quite see how they are going to take it further than that. Can anyone honestly think of any series where the fourth or fifth movie was as good if not better thatn its predessors? I think its slim pickings, I really think that Every series should stop at one, Notable exceptions of course being flicks Like Harry Potter and Star Wars. I think Sony, Fox and Disney are the biggest offenders.

@Metallicat79

Heck, even most THIRD movies aren’t very good. Usually the first sequel in a series is the best in a series IMHO. Spider-Man, Star Wars (originals), Star Trek movies, Aliens, etc., etc.

That’s why I’m really looking forward to Iron Man 2. :-D

@Vic
I am with you on that Vic. You thought that Spider Man 2 was better than the first, Man all this time i thought i was the only one who thought that.
I think Iron Man 2 will be awesome and I cant Wait, this time will actually see it in the theatre and not wait til its on DVD.

Andy S says:

Agreed Vic, the 2nd movies are usually as good as, or better than, the original. I thought Superman 2 was FAR superior to the original film, and X-Men 2 kicked butt. The original Indy film has not been surpassed, IMO, though. As far as the Trek films, I always seem to find myself going back to the 4th film, “The Voyage Home.” I think that is the best of the bunch, although ST2 is right up there.
