Matt Keith says:

Why can’t they just continue the story already set by the first four films instead of doing yet another reboot.

Phil G says:

Transformers 2 a grand total of…?

*Goes to boxofficemojo to find out*

Phil G says:

Damn, an estimated $339,208,000 … *falls over*

$672,302,317 worldwide.

I’ll be honest, this is WAY beyond my imagination even as a lifelong Transformers fan that a TF movie would make this much. Too bad it wasn’t a better film.

Andy S says:

Niall, unfortunately I think you are right about TJ Hooker. Could also be Jim Carrey, too. I wonder if Heather Locklear will be in it, too?

Just waiting to hear about a “Fall Guy” movie any day now.

790 says:

I hope Statham can pull off the intensity of a badguy cop. This could be the biggest stretch of acting we ever see out of him.

They can’t all be Batman films Bale,,,

That concept for DiNero’s film sounds like it would do better as a comedy… I can see some funny moments having him overdose on Ginko Bibloba.

I can’t see myself watching Bruno in a theater with other people that actually want to see Bruno in a theater… No movies for me this weekend, maybe for a couple weekends,,,

Andy S says:

@790…

I can’t believe ANYONE went to watch Bruno. Just the previews for it kept me from wanting to see it. I’m surprised it made the #1 movie. I read that it had a huge dropoff from Saturday to Sunday, and the reviews of the general public have NOT been good at Yahoo movies. I’d be suprised if this piece of trash tops $50 mil total now.

790 says:

Andy, I think Borats fanbase and the gay community helped make the film a hit… 8-O

greenknight333 says:

The Taking of Pelham 123 @61million for a movie that cost 100 million to make &probably another 40-50 million to market.. that’s gotta be a HUGE disappointment for the studio..

Public Enemies will probably finish in the 90-100 million doallr range with a small chance of getting over 100 million in total. This has to be somewhat of a disappointment for the studio as well..

Jimmy says:

bruno sucked (pun intended)…

Matt Keith says:

I don’t wanna see “Bruno” simply b/c I think Cohen is overrated and not funny at all….even “Borat” was funny to me.

Jago says:

Bruno was hilarious in my opinion… I’m so going to buy the blu-ray for the extras. Hopefully TF2 makes alot more money as well…

steven the git says:

It’s interesting that in the UK Cohen tried switching from Ali G to Bruno and Borat and no one liked them. Somehow he found someone to give him the movies to make.
Now he’s done all three, he might have to try something new.

The Statham thing sounds cool, especially with Considine. One of best actors in Britain if you ask me (not that anyone did).

ken x says:

At over 40, i think sandra bullock was the hottest ive ever seen her in that movie.

Ken J says:

You know, I’ve always seen her as an airhead, and because of that can’t really find her attractive. Not saying she is, probably just how some of the characters she has played have portrayed her, but once that image is in my mind, it’s hard to ignore it, lol.

ken x says:

That never bothers me…lol.

Ken J says:

Ah yes, I know, I’m weird, for some reason a person’s personality actually affects how I actually see them. I know she’s attractive, but everytime I see her face, the first thing that pops into my head is “dumb airhead” not how she looks… Can’t help it…

gottarhyme says:

Every time I see you avatar, Ken, I think, ‘Tin man, needs a heart.” (Just joking.) ;)

The Big Dentist says:

There’s a heart of gold in there somewhere. Oh wait, that’s still metal!

SK-47 says:

@Ken J, you’re talking about Bullock? Haha, yeah I get the same way. Especially after Demolition Man I just see her as a clutz. I know she is smart and has strong opinions but I cannot help it as well.
Is she still hooked up to Jesse James?

Tim "Cloverfield" says:

Hopefully the bruno will crash this next weekend. As a mature film attendee, those types of “films” do not interest me one bit. Glad HP is finally here this coming week!

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

I just knew TROTF would make this type of money, even though it’s not all that great. I’ve talked to many people about the first movie and the idiotic humor and lack of plot just isn’t enough to shy them away from the stellar effects and action. Expect more of the same, unfortunately.

I did think Borat was funny but too gross to buy. The trailers for Bruno just turned me off; there’s no way I can see myself spending any money on this.

Iron Knight says:

Harry Potter WILL OWN next weekend. I predict a gross between 120-130. Having already seen the film I hope it tops Transformers because it’s really a much better and funnier film

greenknight333 says:

Bruno has an internal multiplier of 2.1 so that bodes for a final box office tally of 60-65 million (and that’s being generous) so it will collapse next weekend and probably be down 60-70%. This will definitley NOT have a bigger second weekend than Borat…ALthough Borat did expand significantly in it’s second weekend.

My wife and I are going to see TROTF tonight…See what all the hullaballoo is about…

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

@Iron Knight
I have heard that ticket sales for HP are outselling TROTF before it came out officially, so your wish may get granted. So far, HP is at %97 on rottentomatoes. Black Dynamite also comes out this week; if I get one of those free passes when I go see HP, it may be a double-header for me.

Cantizzle says:

saw transformers last night on Imax. The first one I think had a stronger story, but this one definitely had better scenes with the big robots, and Optimus Prime kick some ass.
Definitely some slow scenes though.
My girlfriend really liked it, and mentioned how there was a love story for the girls that watched it.
