im a little suprised that “the soloist” wasnt mumber 1, however im beting “xmen origins wolverine” will be number 1 next week

Ken J says:

The Soloist wasn’t really advertised that much and isn’t one of those big blockbuster type movies. I think I only saw like 2 commercials for it ever…

Matt K says:

ive seen a fair share of advertisements for the film..well trailers anyway, of course not as many as wolverine or star trek

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

I went to see Fighting and I thought it was terrible. I’m not getting Terrence Howard; the man has talent but his agent is choosing the wrong films or is asking for too much money (IM 2). His character in Fighting talks like he’s drunk and the fighting was horrible. Never Back Down was better, and we all know what a letdown that movie was.

Andy S says:

I can’t believe Obsessed made so much green. I thought the previews looked HORRIBLE and it just seemed like a really stupid movie. I guess the slutty aspects of the movie appealled to a big audience. I expect we’ll see a HUGE drop off next week.

I think “The Soloist” did quite well for a movie not aimed at the 12-25 year-old viewing public. It’s not really a boys’ night out movie (”Obsessed”, “Fight”) or a date, get-her-in-the-mood movie (”He’s Just Not That Into You”, etc.). It also comes off as something of a downer (and who needs that right now?) in the trailers. It actually wasn’t a downer at all-I loved it- and was a good deal better than reviews led me to believe it would be!

Sean Bean needs to reprise his role as Odysseus.

SK-47 says:

When I first saw the trailer for Fighting I said to myself, “what the hell is this? They remade Lionheart!”
John “Kahless”, is this movie bascially Lionheart except just a more stankier version of it?
And, Lionheart is a classic!

I like that Warner Bros. has got another Sword & Sandals Epic in their hands. I love these types of films, and Warner Bros. has a long history of making these types of movies. I just hope that the end result from their “bidding war” does not turn into something terrible.

Mark says:

I was annoyed to find that, although my local theater showed previews for the soloist before every movie there for 3 months, they did not show it there. I really want to see this film.

John "Kahless" Taylor says:

@SK-47
Comparing Fighting with Lionheart is about the same as comparing Dragonball: Evolution with Enter the Dragon (although Enter the Dragon is a lot better than Lionheart IMHO). DB:E is better than Fighting, so that should tell you how bad Fighting was.
