I wish I had known about posts like this before that suggestion contest. I like this kind of post and the whole review of the box office openings and such.

Everyone that I know that saw Ledgend loved it.
= interesting to see if it continues this way next weekend. If it drops it could an indacation of how many went to see the Dark Knight trailer.
^
Golden Compass wow what a huge bomb. Reminds me of Nicole Kidmans last film. I think it was called “the invasion”. That one also had Daniel Craig. Boy those 2 don’t make for good BO. This film dosnt interest me at all….
^
Vic this colume would be very cool but only if you did it for Screenrant “type” films. I think if you did it every weekend it wouldn’t be as cool. :)

Steve,

I think EVERYONE is stunned at how badly “The Golden Compass” crashed and burned… and I didn’t realize at the time I wrote the article that “I Am Legend” had broken the December box office record, even beating out “Lord of the Rings.”

Going to see I Am Legend at the matinee today. My brother is going with solely to see the Dark Knight trailer.

And, “inappropriate content?” Heaven forbid you expose yourself to an idea you disagree with. The ridiculousness of the people protesting and boycotting this movie is silly.

Hey Butch,

My inappropriate content comment was directed to movies in general that are supposed to be family films, not Compass in particular.

Best regards,

Vic

Yeah its hard to believe Alvin did so well.
^
Release timing of these 2 films says alot. Ones an apocolyptic story and ones a kids film. 2 choices.
^
The rest of the movies out right now should just expect numbers to get worse. Ledgeng and Alvin are going to rule prob thru the holidays.
^
Alvin could even break 100 mil with word of mouth.

I’m definitely hanging to see I am Legend, but it doesn’t come out over here for a while yet. Still, when it does, I’ll be happy to add to its world wide takings :P

Sorry that was a bit odd question.

I asked because I’m a telcom tech and I heard that I guess maybe its Melbourne had gone totally wifi…everything.
^
Also I don’t know anyone in Austrailia. :) ^
Ledgend does look good….. I hope it reaches you soon.
