watchmen keene act video New Watchmen Video: No Vigilantes!

There’s a brand new video hot off the presses from the Watchmen viral site TheNewFrontiersman.net. It continues the “real world” approach to what happens in the film and I have to say I’m loving all this.

It’s a PSA (public service announcement) informing people about “The Keene Act,” a piece of legislation passed banning costumed vigilantes.

Check it out below:

So what do you think?

Watchmen opens on March 6, 2009

  1. I love how they are marketing this film..it’s setting the table nicely for the movie to follow in March…I hope this type of marketing and promotional material continues…

    Thanks Vic :)

  2. I didn’t vote Keene, I wasn’t born then.

  3. What a way to market a movie and to introduce anyone who doesn’t have a clue what the WATCHMEN movie is about. I sat in during the trailer of this movie at a theater recently, full house and all and I think I was probably the only one politely clapping. Some were whispering “what the hell was that?” to their partners.

Keep it up WATCHMEN. Maybe the landslide of people will showing in the second week.

  4. @ Rob

Smart@$$… :) I was born but not old enough to vote…How bout you Vic…I don’t think you would have been able to either but not by much… ;)

  5. Nice!

Is it me, or does that shot of Rorschach walking away from the camera, and looking over his shoulder a little reminiscent of the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film?

  6. @greenknight

I’m old but I’m not THAT old. :-P

    Vic

  7. Good call Doug C, I definitely see that

  8. @MBL, you are right! This is a great way to market this type of film, if only they did this type of thing with other superhero films as well.
Imagine if New Line pulled off something like this with the first Blade movie? Police reports about a vigilante stalking the night, or even a Hard Copy type of report on Vampires in New York, real or fake? That would have been sweet!

The Punisher sure could have used something like this instead of standard action-oriented/metal-sounding trailers. A Fake news telecast of a vigilante hunting down the mob, etc.

  9. ugh, I wish they wouldnt put them on You Tube…..I cant see it from work! Guess I actually have to do some work now :-(

  10. this is so Great !
