Two brand new TV spots for Watchmen and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li have popped up online; one amazing, one not so much – you can probably guess which one’s which.
Warner Brothers is sure pumping up the marketing as we get closer the release date of Watchmen (less than three weeks away!). This new short trailer is awesome and the background music is epic as always – They sure know how to make a good trailer! Remember how good The Dark Knight trailers were?

The other trailer is for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and nothing in it excites me. For a movie strictly based only on fighting, the fighting is poor compared to other movies like Ninja Assassin or even the few fight scenes we’ve seen from Watchmen.

Watchmen is directed By Zack Snyder and stars Billy Crudup, Carla Gugino, Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman and Matt Frewer.
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and stars Kristin Kreuk, Chris Klein, Neal McDonough, Michael Clarke Duncan, Moon Bloodgood, Taboo and Robin Shou. I’m a pretty big fan of Neal McDonough from his roles in Band of Brothers, Minority Report and Star Trek: First Contact as well as Robin Shou from the Mortal Kombat movies but not even they can sell me on this film.
The Street Fighter movie’s release date is tied to the release of the next big video game in the series. Street Fighter IV hits shelves February 17 (two days from now) and The Legend of Chun-Li, comes outs ten days later on February 27, 2009.
Watchmen debuts shortly thereafter on March 6, 2009.

watchmen was cool. its going to kick butt. its a perfect example, why i like rated-R movies.
chun-li was ok but i liked the other clip more. you know the one where she’s fighting in the club with the poles (the music was cool).
Okay, very much loved the background music within the Watchmen clip. I will definitely be finding out where that music came from. And yes… I’m finally getting really, really excited about Watchmen. It’s taken a while, but I’m definitely there.
Jeez, that was some horrible fighting, the director of the Street Fighter movie should have layed off on using too many wires. Wasn’t this director the same guy who did Romeo Must Die? If he was the one, then he must have lost something, because the new Street Fighter movie does not look promising at all. You know what else is worst, no PANTYHOSE! Which were a part of Chun Li’s original costume. Hollywood sure as hell knows how to screw up a video game/anime live adaptation.

Yah, I hate when they land so nice and soft and when they can climb a wall without putting any effort into it. You can tell they are on wires so easily.
I’m sure she trained hard, but real martial artists train hard all their lives to fight for real, so no matter how hard she trains, it’ll still look fake. They should have simply cast a real female martial artists. I’ve seen some really hot girls who can kick my ass all around town without breaking a sweat that would have been perfect… Although I don’t know how good they are at acting, lol.
I think the problem with that Street Fighter clip is the editing…

There was another Watchmen spot which came out the day after this one but it didn’t show a single new scene and the music wasn’t exciting. It was a rather ordinary teaser and not worth writing an article about.
For Street Fighter, there’s a generic TV spot out there but it doesn’t show much fighting and it rehashes a lot of the last trailer… It wasn’t good.
