  1. I’m re-reading Watchmen! I can’t wait for this!!

  2. Very nice covers and looking forward to the film. Wonder how someone whom doesn’t know anything about the novel interest are to see this film.

  3. I am one of those people that haven’t read the novel and I am very interested in this film. The trailer is amazing and I know nothing about the story. In fact, it is one of the best trailers I have ever seen.

  4. pretty awesome, i hope the movie doesn’t get cut down to 2.5 hours, let Snyder do it right!!

  5. Yeah I don’t know anything about this other than I’m supposed to get the graphic novel and read it, that’s prob not gonna happen, but from what I see so far it looks kinda like a DC version of The X-Men, even a little like the world of Hellboy.
The blue guy in Vietnam looks like he’s the badaas of the bunch.
That one guy with the Rhorshack looking face design looks pretty trippy.
Can somebody here give a heads up on who the good guys are and the rest I’ll assume are bad….? Or is that considered spoilers on this? ;-)

  6. Also why are they generating all this buzz now, its not coming out til March 09 ??

  7. Go to our Watchmen page, Kofi did a mega post that covers what the story is about.

And it does seem that they’re ramping up the press a bit early.

  8. Thanks Greenknight333, so is the Watchmen in paperback or comic book form only?
But then should I read the story only to fall in love with it and then have the film let me down? Arghhhh

I’ll say this after reading that RT coverage, this could challenge TDK, it looks that good.
The characters are very compelling and the story with the alternate universe has got me way interested.
Dr Manhatten looks like he could almost kick Supermans aas.

Wow I’m impressed. Thanks so much for the info.

Now I’m going to check out Vic’s link.
    This looks awesome.

  9. Their’s marketing purpose there. The word is that retail stores are able to load up on the novel on consignment. This started back on June 18, 08.
It kicked off a three-part series of special consignment offers by
DC Comics and Diamond Comic Distributors
for the WATCHMEN. With Marvel’s success with their franchises, and what seems to be nothing but talk coming out of DC/Warner on projects like “Justice League”, this is one they want to do their best to pull in some serious coin while this trend is still hot.

Its also controversial, like “LOTR” and “Dune.” Their trying to make single movies out of miniseries material. It might end up like 1984′s “Dune.” The shell is there, but the spirit is missing.

  10. I have to admit Old Man, this looks like the perfect alternate Justice League film to me.

After reading up on this tonight I’m more stoked then ever. This looks great !!! ;-)

  11. Yea, I agree whole heartedly. As I’ve said before, how “Watchman” does may effect how quick we see a “Justice League.” How’s “BSG” going for ya.

  12. Right on Old Man, sure would love to hang with you over a beer.

I’m currently in the middle of Season 3. Episode “Unfinished Business, the Ron Moore version”.
I’m going to finish it tonight. So far I love the show, and wish it wouldn’t end at season 4, (from what I hear). That sucks. I’ve never loved Almos, more that when he plays Adama !!

    Great show !!!!

  13. 790, This is nothing like x-men or a DC team-up. You really need to read the graphic novel, trust me, you won’t regret it.

  14. Yeah Rob, are we talking a full size Comic book or is this a hardcover, Novel ???

I’m gonna look for it. :-)

  15. Vic, is there any way to make the Watchman happy face?

  16. LOL, no idea how to edit smileys.

Regarding the graphic novel, it was initially published as a monthly mini-series but you can now pick it up in one volume as a softcover for about $20.

  17. Wow! Looks great! Really looking forward to see this one! :)

Now, the comic book (or the graphic novel as they call it these days) is… different. You really have to get into it – accept the style (which, nowadays, feels a bit dated) and the sometimes complicated narration – but then there is a reward waiting for you! :)

Great characters and an intriguing, multi-layered storyline. Sometimes very tongue in cheek (especially when it comes to political satire), but also playing quite a lot times with “reality vs. comic world reality”-themes.

  18. This definitely isn’t a typical superhero story, it will surprise many people, and perhaps take the genre even further than even TDK did.

    I can’t wait.
