It’s great to see the Comic Com footage and there is not much new in that trailer but if they are still cutting the film how much of what we see in the actual trailers will be in the film. You know which money shots from the novel will be there…I just wonder what they are leaving out for the final edit of the film..everything I have seen thus far looks awesome though..Can’t wait to see this!!

Vic there is so little in the way of posts to Watchmen threads that I’m starting to wonder if it will only be a mature audience(i.e.,people familiar with the books (over 30-35)) that sees this movie..Well I guess we don’t have to worry too much because there isn’t anything available with regards to source material to make sequels so we will get to see a Watchmen movie regardless…

greenknight333 says:

and yes I am aware folks that studios do not need original source material to make a sequel/prequel to a movie that was finacially successful…;)

They have really put an amazing amount of time and dedication in this project. Never heard of watchmen before the first trailers, and I’m really looking forward to this one. This is how films should be made!

@greenknight

Gotta say, I, too have been amazed at the lack of excitement/discussion attached to our Watchmen posts!

Maybe it’s because not a lot of Screen Rant’s visitors have read the books and are waiting for the movie and don’t want those of us who have read it to spoil anything about the movie..Can’t think of anything else …

Or maybe it’s just not scandalous enough to bring out the usual rowdy crowd ;) I know I’m psyched to see this film, my god it looks unreal!

Jumpin’ crap on a pogo-stick! That was awesome! Man, Zack Snyder and CO are really doing a great job with this! I’m still anxious to see how they’ll put things like the excerpts from Hollis Mason’s “Under the Hood” and the Ozymandias interview into the film, but if anyone could do it it’s gotta be Zack Snyder. :-) I still think he should do a “mainstream” DC film, like Superman, The Flash, World’s Finest, JLA, anything would be good, altho he might not feel like it after 300 and this.

@Vic,

Thanks for the post! I’ve been trying all week to get this footage via itunes and nothing worked! Glad you showed it here. I don’t mind the U Tube quality, I’m just happy to see it. :-D

@greenknight333,

I think that a good bit of people who read this site are probably unfamiliar with the book, hence the lack of “buzz” attached to the Watchmen posts. Most the peole that read this site are more movie/sci fi buffs. I remember discussing comics here once and I had a fellow commenter tell me “you know, this is SCREENrant, not COMICrant”, lol. :-) Not to say that this site doesn’t attract its share of more comics savvy readers (me! :-p).

Considering the bevy of comic-themed/based movies that have been released recently, and are soon to be released…and the excitement of the general viewers and ScreenRanters…one would think the “Watchmen” would be just as popular. Being one of the most popluar graphic novels EVER, I would have thought more of the ScreenRant crowd would be looking forward to it (or at least more vocal about it).
