[UPDATE: The Warcraft clips has been pulled offline for the time being. Read on for the TV promos/images.]
Aside from the highly anticipated video game adaptation of Assassin’s Creed based on the original intellectual property from publishing developer Ubisoft, writer/director Duncan Jones (Source Code) will also be stepping up to the plate with his Warcraft, based on the best-selling MMORPG created by Blizzard Entertainment. Leading up to the release of the latter-mentioned production next month, distributor Universal Pictures has already released multiple clips and posters in promotion of the new video game film.
At this point and time everything appears to be in tip top shape based on what has been revealed from behind the scenes of Warcraft, putting Jones in a relatively stable position when it comes to attracting a sizable audience of both gamers and non-gamers alike to see the movie in theaters. On that note, the latest crop of exclusive clips, character promos, and high-resolution images from Warcraft paint quite the pretty picture of the fantasy epic soon to come.
To start things off, the fours exclusive clips featured in the video above promise a full-blown encounter with magic, certain turmoil between the human-led Alliance and the Orc Horde, and the potential for peace between the two warring tribes. In addition, the four exclusive character promos for Garona (Paula Patton), Khadgar (Ben Schnetzer), Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel), and Durotan (Toby Kebbell), seen below, all promise plenty of action and intrigue to match that of the video game proper; a close thematic tie more thoroughly examined in the latest behind the scenes featurette, too.

Based on all appearances revealed thus far, Jones certainly seems to have a handle on what makes the Warcraft video game franchise so popular around the world, and the movie itself looks to offer plenty of fantasy heroics and action to please general audiences, too. Likewise, the latest behind the scenes featurette that shows off the level of attention and detail paid to recreating such iconic in-game landmarks as The Lion’s Pride Inn is nothing short of remarkable.
It remains to be seen just how well production studio Legendary Pictures and Jones ultimately do in their making of a modern video game epic developed for the big screen, but with any luck things will continue fall into place and audiences will line up around the block to see Warcraft in theaters this June. Either way, the fantasy realm of Azeroth will soon become a major motion picture location.
Warcraft will see theatrical release in the U.S. on June 10th, 2016.
