evan has anger issues with the punching people in the face thing but you know what im ok with that

and you do have a point of him looking alot like eminem in the graphic novel (its definatley not a comic) and MacAvoy doeesnt look like eminem at all so that was wierd but i thought he was still amazing in the movie

i personally think wanted is a great movie because its different than any other comic universe based movie but thats just me...i loved the level of violence
and i hope they make an amazing sequel but maybe it will be a prequel ... after underworld 3 and fast and furious...i think im ok with prequels.

Having read Wanted and having seen the movie, I, for one, am not excited for this announcement, for various reasons.

First of all, the Wanted comic books were okay at best. Sure, it was an interesting idea and some of the art was good (why was he Eminem again?), but it just went in too many directions, had no real character development (bad guy or not, are we supposed to root for Eminem when he's shooting an old man in the face?), and had an unbelievable yet entirely predictable ending. Although I will give it to Millar, he can write dialogue well. And that's saying a lot, considering he comes off in his work as a pompous brat who just wants his comics to be as "cool" as possible without being good. That being said, I am not a Millar expert. I have only read Wanted and a few issues of Kick-Ass, but I am so far not impressed.

Second of all, the movie wanted was as much based on the comic as "The Mothman Prophecies" was based on real life, i.e., not at all. Sure, the bullet curving thing was... well... weird, you do get to see Angelina's butt for five seconds (why not just rent Gia?), and James MacAvoy is very likeable, but what was with making him shoot his father by accident? What was with the lack of the monster who was made of poop? I liked that guy. What was with killing everybody who wasn't MacAvoy at the end? They left themselves with very little to build a sequel from. Finally, the movie itself was okay. It was fun, sure, but not anything that I would ever watch more than once. It is definitely a film that needs no sequel, and Millar is a man who needs a smaller audience. Just because someone is confident doesn't mean that what they write is any good.

Look at that weasel in his Betty Ford Clinic shirt. I want to punch him in the face.
