Rachel Nichols is no stranger to playing a kick-ass heroine. The actress played the gorgeous and fierce female Joe, Scarlett, in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra in which she engaged in an epic battle of cat suit clad hotness against Sienna Miller's Baroness. So the chance to once again engage in a good old fashioned girl-fight in a film, this time paired against Rose McGowan's Sorceress Marique in Conan The Barbarian, held a visceral appeal for the actress.

Of course, as a monk and sought after "pure blood" in the film, Nichols' Tamara is less of a warrior and more of an instinctual scrapper.

This version of Conan The Barbarian makes its debut as the latest interpretation of Robert E. Howard's beloved character in theatres this weekend. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Nichols to talk about "throwing down" in the aforementioned girl-fights and how leading man Jason Momoa (who both she and McGowan hail as "the sweetest barbarian ever") inspired her during the making of Conan.

Take a look at our interview and the synopsis for the film below.

Synopsis:

The most legendary Barbarian of all time is back this Summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight consecutive decades in the public imagination- in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small, in games and properties of all kinds- Conan’s exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before in a colossal 3D action-adventure film.

A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

Deftly adapted from the original works of Robert E. Howard and faithful to the mythology and psychology of his iconic character -- "Conan The Barbarian."
