Very Early TV Season Finales
Jan 4, 2008 by Heath McKnight
The writers strike has caused several television shows to have premature season finales. This month (January 2008) and February, which is one of the biggest sweeps events for networks, will see several major and minor shows come to an end three to four months early. And who knows when these shows will return? Definitely not the fall, but maybe by January 2009.
Some shows include CSI on Jan. 10, CSI Miami on Jan. 14, Family Guy on Jan. 13, and even mega women’s shows like Desperate Housewives will end on Jan. 6.
Other shows end in March, like Jericho (though it wasn’t supposed to be a long season) and Lost, but word is that Fox’s Bones will have some new episodes in April and May.
Though I’m not a major TV watcher, I do enjoy some shows, like The Simpsons and 24. Now is a great time to keep plowing throw Netflixed DVD seasons of Battlestar Galactica. Thanks to Vic for turning me onto this brilliant show!

Around the web:

BSG is definitely a cool show – I’m having a hard time getting my head around how season 4 won’t start until April.
Hey Heath, you’re welcome.
Vic
Thus begins the non-debate. Say what you will and I am a fan of this show; but the writer’s strike was the BEST thing to happen to Heroes. I’m still ticked at how bad this show spiraled downward. If/when season 3 airs, there better be a huge improvement or it will be a permanent casualty of it’s own design and I won’t be too sorry to see it go. And screw NBC/the producers for how they promoted the final episodes… “ALL questions from Season 1 will be answered!” Including how Sylar survived the stabbing at Kirby plaza. Which, they didn’t explain despite the promotion… (expletives deleted) like that is why I hate network TV…

Journeyman was brilliant. And I only saw about 4 episodes of it.
The nice thing that’s happening lately is that producers are responding quickly to viewer complaints of popular shows. Look at how “Lost” started moving the story forward when they started bleeding viewers due to the stagnant story line. Towards the end of this season of “Heroes” they changed things in response to viewers as well.
Unfortunately the producers of “Star Trek: Enterprise” listened too late and blamed the viewers for lousy ratings instead of stepping up and accepting responsibility. When Manny Coto came on board and starting turning things around in Season 4 it was too late.
Vic
A true tradgedy not doing Enterprise season 5 with Coto.
^
Paramount jumped the gun and cancled the show.
Biggest mistake since they decided to go back in time in the first place.
^
I have the dvd collection of season 4 and it is brillant Star Trek.
Steve
And what about Prison Break season 3. !????
Steve, yeah… I’m with you. I dedicated a post to that when the show was canceled. Coto came in at the 11th hour and started to turn the ship in the direction it should have been going from the start… but it was too late.
Vic
Yeah Vic, Paramount canceled trek even though it was realy kickin…(One reason I hope ST11 bombs). In your face Prmnt!
Thanks for the dvd’s now go away!!!!!

those that havnt seen Season 4 of Enterprise you have no idea… Even Archers character started to really turn into a Captain with mojo!
After the Zindi conflict in season 3 he’s started to act more like Kirk (we come in peace/set phasers to kill).

The Enterprise sitch reminds me of this “Journeyman” show. It clearly had more fans then we knew…..passionate fans that won’t forget this NBC/scum!!!!!!!
Webomatica, have you seen BG Razor yet?
Awesome! Yeah there’s a few issues but overall its a stand alone kick ars film.
