A huge fan of Bikini Bottom’s peculiar architecture, who also happens to be a Valheim player, has decided to rebuild SpongeBob’s, Squidward’s, and Patrick’s iconic houses in the crafting/survival game. Fans of Iron Gate Studios’ indie hit regularly invest their leisure time in recreating famous fictional structures from popular universes.

One devoted Harry Potter fan is currently working on a massive full-scale replica of Hogwarts Castle and all of its surrounding areas in Valheim. The project is slowly but steadily approaching its completion, and some of its parts are already done. For instance, the legendary Quidditch pitch located near the School of Wizardry has been finished by the player in stunning detail. The Great Hall, from which the majority of Potter’s adventures tend to originate, is also pretty much complete, barring the absent hovering candles.

Bikini Bottom’s signature residential area, complete with SpongeBob’s, Squidward’s, and Patrick’s iconic houses, has been finally built on one of Valheim’s numerous servers. Courtesy of spectralspon on Reddit, the project is remarkable. Squidward’s residence is as similar to the original source from the animated series as possible. The most impressive part of the build is obviously SpongeBob’s pineapple house, which doesn’t rely on any cheats whatsoever. According to the builder, the structure is held in place with the help of core wooden beams, which took the author some time to figure out. Patrick’s house probably took the least effort as it’s just a simple pile of rocks, which nonetheless completes the whole scene. The player hinted that the next project in this full-scale Bikini Bottom tribute might be a Krusty Krab replica, which will definitely benefit from wooden building assets.

SpongeBob’s house from the Bikini Bottom project in Valheim is reminiscent of various curved structures that were previously built by other players as a proof-of-concept. This is one of the first proper implementations of this impressive building technique that has been documented so far; typically the method has been used for more decorative purposes. For instance, an ingenious Valheim builder managed to create a couple of amazing floating structures that looked magical but didn’t serve any particular purpose.

Valheim’s building mechanics might not be as elaborate as similar systems in other survival titles, but players have clearly taken full advantage of everything the game has to offer nonetheless. The recent Bikini Bottom build is direct confirmation that there’s nothing impossible for this ingenious community of creative players. Although in the build itself, there are insignificant discrepancies here and there, the overall design and shapes are just brilliant, even despite the fact that the color palette leaves much to be desired. Hopefully, developers will consider adding an option to dye objects in Valheim soon.
