1. Brandon should remain Superman, the new Superman costume is a really nice evolution.
2. Superman should be seen as a God-like savior of Earth, Not a week lovesick puppy.
3. Remember, Clark Kent is Superman’s secret I.D. Not the other way around.
4. Superman is both an unstoppable force and a immovable object. He has absolute power and knows nothing of self doubt.
5. Superman stands for “Truth, Justice, and THE AMERICAN WAY” !!!! He is after all a naturalized American citizen who loves his country.
6. Show us the Superman of today and beyond. Everybody knows Superman’s origins. He is after all the first superhero EVER.
7. Superman is a BAD ASS, show that to everyone in the theaters.
8. Less of Kent, More of Superman doing his thing. Please see #3.
9. Please give Superman a super enemy that will push him to all of his limits.
10. Lex Luther is supposed to be totally mentally disturbed, insane, unstable, and ruthless, yet his intelligence is beyond calculation. Like the Joker with a brain, less hair, more money, and a plan.
11. Lois Lane needs to be really Hot, Like 11 out of 10 hot, swim suit model hot. Not some single mom.
12. Superman is NOT a DADDY.
13. Superman is to be shining example to all mankind.

Tom Welling deserves a shot – he has the experience, he’s been familiar with the character for many years in the SmallVille series and I don’t care what some of these ignorant people say about him or the show because it nothing but ignorant b******* – it’s a great show and as a Superman fan, I watched it for many years and I admit, I was concerned about Welling’s acting, rather than just looking the part. But over the years, he developed the acting skills and bulding character and admitingly, he’s earned my respects. It took me a while to realize it but now I know – if theres anyone who has the skill and able to get the job done, It should be Tom Welling and I’m not saying it because I’m a fanboy, I know what I’m talking about. He’s a great choice and he has great quality thats close to Christopher Reeve and it would do JUSTICE to have Welling to be casted for the part. Come on, seriously, he’d make a great Superman!

Brandon Routh is a model/actor.
He doesn’t look “gay”, or “effeminate”, or anything.. he’s just a good looking dude with good skin. Christopher Reeves was just as “effeminate” as Routh, and no one is complaining about that. He wasn’t any more “masculine” than Routh. Period. Have any of you even WATCHED the original movies recently?

If anything, Routh has a certain masculine quietness that is interesting to watch on film.

I’ve got news for all you people.. THAT’S WHY THE MOVIE BOMBED IN THE FIRST PLACE…. the simple fact is, whether or not it’s actually true… Routh looks GAY.. (as in effeminate and homosexual).. regardless of what you clothe him in…

There is nothing manly about about him whatsoever.. and that DEFINATELY is NOT the appropriate image for SUPERMAN. He ‘may’ be a good actor (although his portrayal of Supes first time round certainly doesn’t support this…), but the most famous and recognisable superhero of all time, is not a suitable vehicle for any talents that he may have.

As for Welling, well, …yes!.. quite simply because he looks the part and has a certain gravity (pardon the pun) about him, ALTHOUGH I do feel that he is still to young for such a momentous role, give it 5 years and there would be no one else better suited to play the part.. but can WB really afford to wait.

Given the fact though, that WB are due to lose Supes in 2013 they may try to sabotage the character to make him a less attractive proposition to Marvel and to reduce any licence fees that they may be likely to pay… so they may just go with the stupid and inappropriate choice of Routh.

He looks friggin’ huge in that pic. And he’s a few years older now, I think he’s perfect for the part and should play Superman again.

My gripes about Superman Returns were the story (namely them giving Supes a bastard kid and the lack of action!), I thought Routh was fine with what he had to work with, which wasn’t much. Bosworth needs to put on some damn curves, just my opinion.

I feel the same way. I think that pic of Routh with the eyeliner originated from some trippy fashion magazine. The picture I found just kinda shouts ‘SUPERMAN’ Imo. I hope it’s not too bold of me to ask if it could be used for any further articles dealing with Routh. Or at least for the love of Krypton don’t use that fashion one anymore. lol
