Unflattering Look At The Cloverfield Monster

The Cloverfield monster toy is revealed! You can see it after the jump, but be warned, if you haven’t seen the movie.

The toy is made by Hasbro (makers of My Little Pony, also known as, in this case: bait…) and they’ve finally revealed what the $100 Cloverfield monster toy will look like, It’s pretty insane, to be honest and I have to say I’m not regretting putting in a pre-order on this 14″ tall baby! It has two heads, one with the mouth open, the other, closed, plus 10 of those nasty “parasites” that run amok and wreak havoc.

Now I say “unflattering” because these are brightly lit shots of a toy with no “atmosphere” to make them look better. Just stark white lighting, but it’s effective at showing the detail. So, here you go:

Find the toy at Hasbro.com! Also, Paramount released a video of the “Monster Revealed,” if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s a scary moment in the movie which you can see here at Yahoo! movies.

  1. You weren’t kidding about the unflattering part. This toy makes the monster look really awful. Looks like King Kong would rip it apart!!!

Uh oh, I think I just game them an idea for the sequel… 😛

  2. nice! it seems not sooo bad like in the movie :-)

about sequel: what about “aladygma”? is the next cloverfield or what? maybe just a j.j. abrams movie? or just another top secret movie?

  3. Where’s Godzilla when we need him!

    That’s one nasty bug!

  4. Should have had McFarlane make it! It looks horrible compared to the movie.

  5. Nothing says “Will you be my Valentine” like…like…cLOVErfield.

  6. OK… now THAT’s funny. :-)

  7. IMHO, looks more like a bat without the wing skin; add breathing bladders and two extra arms.
    Hope the mother looks meaner.

  8. Wow, Heath, thanks.

I know about the mystique and the experiential nature of Cloverfield. But there’s something just wrong about a movie where you don’t see the main subject clearly–until a month later, as a toy.

Adrian-yes, reminds me of a bat too. But mostly, it looks deformed and just doesn’t “compute.” That’s good, it means it’s truly alien.

Not sure the crossed eye look is not silly.

What’s with the stain around Miss Liberty’s head? Is that blood? Cerebral fluid? What did the French stuff her with? Is it sweet cream? Was she a giant pastry all this time?

  9. Thanks for the photos Heath!

The creature looks pretty acurate from what I remember in the film. In some of the shots it looks like it has taken damage.
    What a wicked creature.

  10. Two words Jim, Strawberry Jam.;-)
