    I would love it if they cast Barry Corbin to play the part of Big Jim. He is totally who I picture when I'm reading parts about him in this book

    how is this book different from the simpsons movie? in the simpson's movie, the government put down a 'dome' on top of a town that was distroying the atmosphere. In this novel, alien children in a playroom used their play box to put down on a 'dome' over a town to 'play' as if they were burning ants under a magnifying glass. seems to me a bit ODD. WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to long!

    Yeah pretty lame to give away the source of The Dome like that. If I had not finished this booked already id want to hunt you down and you would be wishing you were hiding under the dome from me.. "Seems a bit odd to you"? Thats your critique? Stick to your Bart Simpson cartoons buddy. Under the Dome was an awesome book>>>

  • This is absolute slush! They need to stop degrading Kings work for netweork television. For God's sake, The Stand would have made a helluva trilogy! I'm on page 400 of Under the Dome and can tell you...to do it write, they need to go bigger!

    As much as I almost invariably LOVE every single word Stephen King writes (hell, I've even set some of his poetry to music!), I've always been disappointed with the film adaptations of his books/stories. There's always some element missing.

    I will continue to be optimistic and hope for a real honest to goodness adaptation that renders to the screen the brilliance that King is so capable of.

    Don't get me wrong, I haven't "hated" any of the previous adaptations.. I actually really liked "The Mist". Every adaptation just always falls short of really rendering what King wrote... which is perfectly understandable, as he is very much a "literary" writer. He doesn't just write a story. He chooses each word so carefully. Every word has colour and meaning in layers. Reading King is like listening to music.

    @790...

    LOL! I like you, 'cause you know how to make me laugh. :D

    @piratedan....

    I'd love to see Frank Darabont tackle this one. He directed three of my favorite Stephen King movies -- The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption & The Mist. He really has a feel for King's work, and he's done an excellent job of translating his works to the screen.

    well Frank Darabont has done the best job of transplanting the feel of the books to the screen imho, I'd nominate him.

    Sounds interesting though when I read the title I thought of the R2-D2 documentary,,, ;-)

    @Scott...

    Ooooh... I get to be first to weigh in. :D

    I hope that Under The Dome will be as good as Storm Of The Century. Now... the interesting part will be who's going to be cast, which network will broadcast it (maybe ABC?) and who will direct.

    Looking forward to this one...
