I for one don’t mind if one of the villains is Luthor, and personally think it is good to have him in every Superman film, even if he’s working behind the scenes in the shadows. I would like to see the Joker make some appearance in every Batman film that wsy. But I do however hope that Lex isn’t the main antagonist again. I would hope that when they say 2 villains they mean 2 ones other than Luthor. We should expect Luthor to be there without any mention at all. As far as a movie goes I really hope it is a major improvement over the first, though I don’t see how that’s possible without making it a prequel to Returns, wear there’s no Jason,Richard,or anything else to bog the movie down. Braniac and Metallo would be cool,or Parasite,or just about any other villain than Luthor again. If Lex is back I expect to at least see him in his battle suit if he is going to be a serious threat to Superman.

And multi-villains do work. Check out Batman Begins,3 baddies there, dude!!

“Oh sure, multi-villains can work…”

Lex Luthor is by far one of the worst villains of all time. He is boring. I don’t get what is so attractive about him? He has no super power and basically is just some rich guy that wants to destroy Superman. How about they make a movie with Bizarro Superman?

KEL says:

Dude,as a longtime Superman fan I can tell you,Luthor is definitely not boring. He’s the culmination of every corrupt politician,George Bush, mad scientist, and kingpin. He’s Superman’s archenemy, and he’s human!! You’ve got to be pretty evil in order to be called the most powerful hero in the world’s archenemy and not have any physical advantage over him. Though I’m all for Bizarro,Braniac,or just about anyone else for a Superman movie, dude.

I work at a casting office in nyc and I don’t know anymore than what I am about to type:
apparently some ‘unknowns’ are being looked at in regards to “MOS”- well one of them garnered the attention from his portrayal of a war vet in some off broadway drama “BOOTS”(I think was the title).
Thats all I know but if playing a war vet got attention- maybe they are looking at re-visiting General Zod?

I think the writers need to sit back, relax, and actually think of a good story line. What were they thinking? Lex would build a crystal continent and rule this land with his three retarted hench men and bimbo girlfriend. Then after he’s killed most of the world’s pop. he would sell the land to who’s left. Luthor is not supposed to be an idiot like this, or a thug who needs to con an old lady to gain his fortune. As in smallville you actually like lex for his attitude and intelligence. I don’t blame Spacey. I blame the ones who made him do it like this.
After a long vacation batman came back and delivered everything fans had been expecting.
Superman writers need to listen to their fans and not produce the same CRAP!! as thirty years ago.
