Charlie Sheen Leaving ‘Two and a Half Men?’

Charlie Sheen leavin Two and a Half Men Charlie Sheen Leaving Two and a Half Men?

Charlie Sheen has become the highest paid actor in television thanks to the hit CBS comedy Two and a Half Men, reportedly banking himself an estimated $825,000 an EPISODE (I know…).

However, as People magazine reports, it looks like Sheen may be bringing his time on the show to a close.

Sources are saying that even though the network hoped Sheen would sign on for another season, he recently turned down that offer. The reason for Sheen supposedly not coming back? A nameless source from the set said – “Charlie’s just done… and he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back.”

The taping of this season will finish a week from today and it’s looking like Sheen won’t sign a new contract for an eighth season. A friend of the actor said – “He wants to move on… Leaving is 100 percent his idea.”

On the one hand it kind of makes sense that Sheen wants to move on to other things, since he’s worked on the show since 2003 (can you believe it’s been on for seven years?), but on the other hand, he’s giving up a job that pays him almost a million dollars for ONE episode!

Having said that about the money, perhaps Sheen wanting to leave is a combination of working on the show for so long and what’s been going on in his personal life. We’re not a gossip site, but just in case you haven’t heard: Sheen has been going through some things at home, including being charged with domestic violence charges by his wife Brooke Mueller, and even entering rehab recently (he still returns there every night after work).

Nothing is for sure yet and CBS has stated that they don’t comment on contractual issues. But a source close to the show says, “negotiations are ongoing and nothing has been determined.”

What if Sheen leaves the show? Surely it wouldn’t be able to go on without him. I mean, he’s a source of a lot of the humor and his sleazeball behavior is a major part of it. Besides, they would have to change it to “One and a Half Men” which just doesn’t have the same ring to it…

I’m a big fan of the show (I’ve been reading around and I don’t get a lot of the dislike/hate for it) and I would be sad to see Charlie Sheen leave.

Are you a fan of Two and a Half Men? Would you be sad if Sheen left the show?

We’ll keep you in the loop as to whether Sheen actually leaves the show or not.

  1. =(

  2. maybe he can team up with twohy to make the arrival 2 now

  3. I really hope this is not true

  4. Sheen knows what he's doing.

  5. NOOOOOOO i do love this show but i guess a lot of people would want to make some drastic changes in their life considering whats been happening with him late, hope he changes his mind for at least one more series after this one, and i hope he sorts everything out, still jon cryer, the kid and himself will be in high demand after the show ends, imean theyre all hilarious and “jake” is the only kid on tv who's actually likeable and you don't want to punch after every line

  6. It's always a big mistake to walk away from a top show at its peak. Sadly, many actors don't realise how lucky they are to star in a No. 1 show, and assume that if they walk away, they can always get another one.

Well, Farah Fawcett never did anything as good as Charlie's Angels after walking away from it. Lisa Bonet never recaptured her fame from The Cosby Show. David Carradine realised too late he had made a mistake walking away from Kung Fu at the peak of its popularity. After walking away from NYPD Blue, David Caruso regretted the decision after failing in his attempt to garner equal success in movies. It was years before he got lucky again with CSI Miami. What has Mr T. done since the A Team? And where is the cast of Seinfeld now?

So one thing is for sure- if Sheen leaves 2 and a half men, his career can only go in one direction. It's so much better to just ride the show until its inevitable decline. Every show eventually jumps the shark. Until it does, just stay put. At least, when it finally goes the way of Friends, he'll have no regrets.

  7. The show was at it's peak 5 years ago.

  8. Wow. This sucks! This is one of my favorite shows on..

  9. he needs to go where the big boys are and that is with Disney or Marvel..I mean if you look at his film resume-its kinda s*****,its where he started but I think because he can be funny as well as a serious actor(PLATOON),this may if he does it right ala RDJ, it could be his 2nd wind in Film..also look at whats hot right now- adult comedies and comic book based films..if he could find his niche in film-he could be back in a bbig way like RDJ!!!..Another actor needing a good kick in the film/tv dept-VAl KIlmer…Will someone give that guy something??

  10. if sheen leaves the show they would have to cancel it wouldnt they?

  11. i cant see the show going on without him. i also cant imagine what else he would do besdies more tv and i mean why leave a guaranteed paycheck? at what 20 episodes a season? thats 16.5 million for one year!

  12. I completely agree with Val Kilmer. He used to play some amazing roles, “The Ghost and the Darkness”, “The Saint”, “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”, but now….ai yi yi
I don't know about Charlie Sheen back in film. I was never a fan of any of his movies. But I really love “Two and a half men”, so who knows, maybe he could surprise me with a return to movies?

  13. I realize that it was listed as 'rumored' in the above piece but Charlie was not recently at a rehab in the traditional since; a rehab for addicts be it drugs or alcohol. Charlie visited a spa to relax and so as to avoid the temptations of slipping back into old/past habits.

Its a shame stories sometimes go more for the impact instead of the truth. Even though it was listed as being 'rumored' I think that was downplayed intentionally in this piece and a lot so in most entertainment pieces.

  14. if charlie leaves, im not watching it anymore.
    i dont like ashton kutcher.

  15. charlie sheen is everything to this show, now with ashton kutcher ,is not so funy, a huge mistake of Chuck Lorre ,he should not let him go away

If there are some spelling errors apologize, because I do not know English well

  16. charlie charlie charlieeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! :((((
THE SHOW IS ALL ABOUT HIM!!!!
and even though i am a huge fan of ashton kutcher, two and a half men will just not seem right without charlieeee!!! :( :( :( :( :( :(
its damn difficult to think of a season or seasons (oh gosh…thats hard) without HIM !! i mean ….COME ON!!!

  17. i hope hel returne i mean this show wont be the same without him i hope everything will turne out great and he will retune if the series hadnt made the start with his dead (sorry for bad grama and speling…)
