Jackie Earle Haley is one of the best & most interesting actors around. He brings emotional complexity to every role he performs, so it’ll be great to see a horror villain played as a three-dimensional person for a change. Personally I like the idea of Krueger potentially being innocent, because it’s something fresh and different; Haley can project a stong vulnerability, and that would work well if his character is in fact falsely accused. I think he’ll be a marvelous Freddy Krueger in every way, and now that he’s been cast this is one of my most anticipated films of 2010.

I usually don’t like remakes, they rarely are good considering you already know the entire story line barely anything changes. The same death scenes occur with horror movies. But this one I’m actually really excited for. I love Haley and I think he can pull off playing krueger but we will have to wait and see. I’m even more excited about it because the filming for certain scenes is taking place at my high school, apparently they liked our pool enough to shoot some scenes there. considering I live in a crap suburb northwest of the Chicago and nothing ever happens here, it’s pretty cool.
