Today we have a treat for all you Twilighters out there:two new character posters for The Twilight Saga: New Moon showcasing franchise sweethearts Bella and Edward, along with a slew of new images from the movie. They (and subsequently we) do love to shower fans of the franchise with a plethora of teasers, don’t they?

New Moon picks up sometime after the events of Twilight, when Bella (Kristen Stewart) becomes devastated after her vampire love, Edward (Robert Pattinson), abruptly leaves. Thankfully Bella has the arms of the “irresistible” Jacob (Taylor Lautner) to fall into and she soon, “finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, the ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested.”

And now, here’s the mentioned two new character posters (which are very similar to two we saw a couple of months ago) as well as a selection of the boat load of 77 new images/stills from New Moon. Take a look:

The aspect I’m probably most looking forward to about New Moon (yes, I’m looking forward to it…) is the introduction of the Volturi, “the closest thing my world has to royalty,” as Pattenson’s Edward let’s us know in the final trailer. The casting of Dakota Fanning as Jane and particularly Michael Sheen as the Volturi leader, Aro, have me really curious.

I just wonder how many more posters and images Summit Entertainment can pump out before New Moon‘s release on November 20th. It’s not as if they NEED to put out anything else – anyone who’s interested in seeing it has already been convinced by everything released, and those who aren’t interested aren’t going to see it anyway (or will, but won’t tell anyone…). Still, expect to see even more marketing before the film’s release.

What are your thoughts on the latest posters and images from New Moon? Will you be seeing it when it opens?

Remember, if you’re eager to book your place in line now, tickets are already on sale for select showings and locations. New Moon opens on November 20th, 2009.
