I am a HUGE fan of the Twilight Saga and the Maximum Ride books, I think that it would be an awesome - provided that a good director would direct it. Catherine Hardwicke would be great - she wouldn't ruin the books. But what I want to know is who is going to play 'The Flock' (aka: Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, Angel) only the right actors would work. If anyone has any info on the cast of the movie PLEASE let me know!!

I do have to add that Max Ride does have some romance in it, but at least it isn't centered around it.

NO!!!!! Maximum Ride and Twilight do not even compare! Maximum Ride is WAY better than Twilight. Catherine is going to screw up this movie. I mean I really hope she doesn't, but a director of Twilight CANNOT handle directing a movie based on a book like Maximum Ride. All you Twilight fans, I would suggest reading Maximum Ride. It is way better than Twilight. Twilight is centered on providing a book that is based on giving teens something they don't experience themselves...if you know what I mean. The whole romance thing is just to get you into it. It's like a way to be able to experience it. It's like "Look Mom, I'm reading a book," and it's realy all this romance crap.
Read something that's worth reading!!! Don't allow yourself to be sucked in. Read Maximum Ride by James Patterson!!! It's worth your time.

i think it has a good chance of turning out ok ,i loved the series and it has a lot of potential as a movie but it will be VERY easy for them to screw it up. i agree with megan to, len wiseman, who did Underworld would do well. there still a good chance that the eraser’s are going to be MUCH more human than wolf and will probably almost never see the flocks wing or see them flying.

I used to be a big Maximum Ride fan, but I had a falling out with the series after book 3. However, I DO still love the first one, so this movie has potential, provided they get a good director. Catherine Hardwicke would NOT be a good director for this movie. I laughed through Twilight--even the serious parts. There weren't really that many special effects in Twilight, but what DID show up made me actually, LITERALLY cringe in my seat. By default, Maximum Ride would (or SHOULD) have many more special effects than Twilight. That being said, I personally think that we would be better off with someone who has more experience with special effects and CGI...like maybe Len Wiseman, director of the Underworld movies.

Don't get me wrong--Hardwicke is a GREAT director...but she should stick to all-human, real-life stories. I loved Thirteen the first time I saw it, and I like it more and more with each viewing. Lords of Dogtown was also truly EXCELLENT, but again...an all-human, real-life story.

I've actually been a fan of the Maximum Ride books for several years now, ever since the first one came out. They're really fun books, which I think could translate well to the screen, but not easily. It's one of those premises that's really cool, but could be easily screwed up. After seeing Twilight, and being pleasantly surprised with it, I feel cautiously confident that Hardwicke could do a decent job. But like I said, to make this a good movie, you can't just do a decent job. Hopefully Hardwicke will step up her game a bit if she gets the gig
