Stargate Movies Coming To Sci-Fi Channel

Stargate Movies Coming To Sci-Fi Channel

Yes, that sounds confusing.  It was weird to write also.  Even though we watch Stargate on the Sci-Fi Channel, Sci-Fi does not own the rights to the franchise.  They are allowed to telecast the shows, but they don’t own them.  MGM owns the rights to do with the franchise as they wish.

One of the many theories of why Stargate: Atlantis is ending is that it’s so MGM can take advantage of the potential profits in moving Atlantis to the DVD medium.

My Own Worst Enemy, Was

My Own Worst Enemy, Was

I’ve been following My Own Worst Enemy starring Christian Slater since it started.

I really enjoyed it and I found it well written. It intertwined an evolving storyline over a number of episodes that was interlaced with good, old fashioned drama, character tension and one heck of an underlying humor theme between the two personalities the Slater played.

Apparently the complicated theme was too much for viewers - as the ratings were just plain trash from day one and NBC has canceled the show.

Prison Break Treads Water, KITT Rolls On

Prison Break Treads Water, KITT Rolls On

PRISON BREAK:

It’s been reported that the actors of Prison Break were given notice that their schedule for filming has been extended for two additional hours, and the thoughts are that these two hours are the last two hours, wrapping up the four year series.

I mean face it, it’s called Prison Break. They got out… from 2 different prisons. Now if they renamed the show to “On the Lamb”, or “Michaels Vengeance” or “Whistler on the Roof”, maybe they could have pulled this off. Who knows.

Obama: The Second Black U.S. President

The 2008 Presidential election is finally behind us and I think it’s time for a little levity after all the anger and angst. I must confess how stunned I am to see so many people reveling in a victory that–if we are being truly honest with ourselves–must be accredited to one man in particular:

That’s right folks, I am referring to former U.S. President, David Palmer.

‘24′ Season 7 And Prequel Details

'24' Season 7 And Prequel Details

The cursed writers strike affected a lot of shows last year and is even partly to blame for the cancellation of some of them. Fox’s 24 was not immune to those effects

Before the writers strike occurred, Fox already had their own “issues.” No, not the usual ones (well, maybe the usual ones) - there was discord in the Fox house as to where they were going to film 24… since the original script for season 7 called for shooting in Africa. Africa was deemed too expensive on production costs. <<- Remember that: It - was - too - costly - to - go - to - Africa.

Once they decided not to shoot in Africa, the show underwent a major rewrite. During the rewrite, a new schedule was being looked at - but timing issues and the writers’ strike came down the pike to throw the production yet another curve ball.

‘Heroes’ In Trouble: Two Producers Fired

'Heroes' In Trouble: Two Producers Fired

As a red-blooded American, I’m man enough to admit when I’ve been out-voted. Majority still rules this country in which we (Americans) live, and, despite my best arguments, it seems that the overwhelming opinion is that Heroes‘ third season, “Villains”, is officially CRAP.

Well, the execs over at NBC have heard the voices of the people (while watching Heroes‘ ratings fall faster than the Dow average) and are already starting to roll heads. The first necks to feel the cut of the guillotine: co-executive producers Jesse Alexander (Lost, Alias) and Jeph Loeb.

'Lost' To Disappear Before It Jumps The Shark?

J.J. Abrams, Lost executive producer, recently sat down with MTV news, discussing (among other things) the hit show’s eventual demise. Perhaps learning from the mistakes of previous genre hits such as The X-Files and Star Trek: The Next Generation, the series co-creator talks about not overstaying the show’s welcome:

David Tennant Is The Doctor No Longer

David Tennant Is The Doctor No Longer

The 10th and latest actor to portray Doctor Who, David Tennant, says he needs to “take a deep breath and move on now I never will, and you’ll be wheeling me out of the Tardis in my bath chair.”

He felt that three years is the exact right time to play the Doctor for him and feels it’s better to leave and be missed than overstay ones welcome.

He will fulfill his obligations to the upcoming Christmas special titled The Next Doctor and four more specials coming up in 2009 but says that he will no longer be the doctor in 2010.
