It is kind of outlandish to think that an episode like ‘Real Life Is the Nightmare’ is what passes for taking a breather on Banshee, but here we are. After last week’s tremendous effort sent Hood on a double road trip, courtesy of the FBI and some very eccentric gangsters, while Burton and Nola Longshadow made sure no one ever looked at a Rolls Royce hood ornament the same way, the series earned a short moment to catch it’s breath.

That’s not to say those breaths were necessarily going to be relaxing. Last week’s episode wasn’t just a rollercoaster ride; it ...

HBO has now officially released its trailer for Game of Thrones season 5 after a bootleg version began making the rounds earlier today. The new trailer first premiered in theaters accompanying the IMAX release of season 4′s final two episodes, and reportedly those screenings have proven very successful, earning more in one evening than most IMAX screen debuts.

Yet, being teased with all season 5 has to offer has only made the wait until its April premiere become all the more unbearable. Until then, fans will have to be content with simply pouring over the trailer, examining every frame, and piecing together any clues they unearth. Once you’ve properly dissected the ...

With mid-season steadily underway, many broadcast and cable networks are now gearing up for their big show pushes for the first half of 2015. However, there might be non-bigger than HBO’s mega-hit fantasy series, Game of Thrones, which returns for its fifth season this April.

The final two episodes from Game of Thrones season four (“The Watchers on the Wall” and “The Children”) began screening in IMAX theaters last night, along with the first trailer for season five. No surprise, the preview leaked online in boot-legged form within a matter of hours – but now, the network has made a high quality version of that same preview available for everyone to watch (see ...

With CBS already locked into a series commitment for Greg Berlanti’s Supergirl, and a leading lady now found in Melissa Benoist (Glee), all eyes are starting to turn to other aspects of the series – including, the villains and, perhaps more importantly, the status of Kara’s famous, super-powered cousin within the show’s world.

A new report concerning the series’ development reveals the identity of the primary antagonist for the Supergirl pilot. In addition, within that same report there’s a sly reference that may (or may not) be confirmation that Superman will indeed exist in the context of this DC TV show universe.

Emotional resonance is not an element typically expected from a police procedural. The goal is usually to play up the theatrical aspects of the crime, to make it salacious or frightening and then depict the manner in which the perpetrator is brought to justice. Although many aspects of its design are procedural in nature, Elementary is fairly atypical when it comes to what properties it chooses to highlight and why. And because of that, it is capable of finding new avenues to explore within characters who are otherwise incredibly familiar.

Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) sleeping with many women is one of the innocent yet awkward lessons this episode teaches its viewers. There’s no reason for Stark to be bedding women other than he can, and much like this series’ period setting, it’s played for quick, convenient, forgettable laughs, rather than being an earnest aspect of this ever-growing world. ...

In Sarandos’ answers, a variety of potential news came out about Netflix’s future, including re-iterating the goal to release 20 original seasons of television a year (about one every 3 weeks), and early rumblings of a potential multi-cam sitcom. However, all this ambition leaves us with a new question: Is the state of Netflix, as it exists, truly sustainable?

Netflix’s success stories include not just original content (such as Orange is the New Black), but also revivals of established cult small screen programs, such as Arrested Development season four. Nonetheless, the upcoming Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp limited series – the title for which has been confirmed by the new teaser (see above) – is something a bit different for the service: a series spinoff for a cult comedy film.

Wet Hot American Summer, for those unfamiliar, is a movie that released back in 2001 but takes place in the year 1981, as the colorful counselors at Camp Firewood attempt to tie up their loose ends on the last day of camp for the summer. First Day of Camp, appropriately enough, picks up on the first day of the summer 1981 season… even though this series is arriving 14 years after the original movie. David ...
