When Disney initially dropped the footage for the up and coming Tron flick at Comic-Con last summer it was titled TR2N. Since then there have been rumors running around the internet saying the film had been retitled Tron 2.0, and then just plain old Tron 2. However, during the Disney presentation at ShoWest it was revealed that the actual title of the film will just be… TRON.

There is a new logo for TRON, which Slashfilm.com site-runner Peter Sciretta attempted to recreate from what was shown:
For a non-graphic designer it isn’t half bad and gives a decent representation of what Disney has in store for Tron. As for giving the sequel the same name as the original movie, I don’t exactly know how I feel about that. It’s sort of strange because it might be confusing for the general population. Maybe they will alter the title some time before the movie goes to theaters by adding some sort of tagline to the film to help distinguish it from the original.
However, I can’t say that making more of a buzz around the movie by confusing the sequel from the original is too stupid, either. Whatever gets people talking, right?

I really preferred TR2N for this sequel name. What a shame that Disney can’t seem to make their mind up.
It’s not the same, this one is in all caps, lol. I’m gonna rent the original so I can see it.
OMG, this stupid Fast and Furious ad activates when I click ANYWHERE. I had to [TAB] my way to this comment box, if I would click my mouse, it woulb bring me to the Fast and Furious ad…
Anyway, @Nathan, Tr2n is too gimmicky in my opinion and has been done SOOOO many times already. Th13teen, Se7en, ah, it’s getting old…
The ad is a big problem. I managed to comment by right clicking into the box, then typing. Anything else took me to the big page ad.
Would prefer another title than just Tron myself, but I’m just hoping for a good movie.

SO sorry about the ad problem! I’ve disabled it for now. It was only supposed to happen on the sides and top, NOT in the content area.
I’ll leave it completely off until I can figure out how to fix it.

I’m going to go under this assumption: it’s called Tron II…with the edges of the “N” highlighted. Think of it sort of like this:

It’s stupid to give the movie the same name as the original…unless it another ‘Reboot’..or ‘Re-Imagined’..or Remake movie.

i agree, but i would prefer it to be simply called tron 2
I thought the original name TR2N was fine.
I personally am not going to see it if they don’t bring back Cindy Morgan (Lora/Yori). You can see even from the original print ads from the movie featured TRON & Yori.

Universal is releasing a sequel to The Fast and the Furious
called Fast & Furious.
Wow .
What originality.
It must have taken them HOURS to come up with that title.

the movie is called “fast and furious”
Tron making a come back after all this years I don’t think that’s a smart idea man I think it’s a bad idea.
I don’t know, the little teaser they showed at CC seemed pretty interesting, makes me want to see it…
