[Update: Listen to the OFFICIAL tracks from Daft Punk's score!]

While you can hear samples of Daft Punk’s soundtrack for the upcoming Tron Legacy at the film’s official site, radio station 107.7 The End has given fans an even bigger treat by sharing extended versions of those clips.

Ever since Daft Punk’s involvement was announced in March of last year, many have passionately supported the decision believing that this is a perfect match of artist and material. Now you can decide for yourself by listening to samples of the Tron Legacy soundtrack.

The talented duo behind Daft Punk are musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. While Bangalter previously had a hand in creating the soundtrack for the film IrreversibleTron Legacy is their most extensive film-related project to date.

It’s been an exciting couple of days for Tron Legacy fans, as anyone following our San Diego Comic-Con 2010 coverage knows. Between the press conference and panel there’s been a plethora of new information and details on the making of the film.

Tron Legacy Samples From Daft Punks Tron Legacy Soundtrack [Updated]

The original Tron is one of the first movies I remember watching as a kid and my enthusiasm for this long-awaited sequel continues to grow. The film looks incredible and I think these soundtrack samples sound awesome. They still have a familiar Daft Punk vibe to them and at the same time they’re totally unique when compared to the duo’s other work.

You can listen to sample’s of Daft Punk’s Tron Legacy soundtrack HERE.

Update: There’s been some contention as to whether or not the tracks posted by 107.7 The End are actually legitimate – however there is no disputing the legitimacy of the tracks below – they’re 100% Official.

Given what we’ve seen of Tron Legacy so far in the form of trailers, posters, and other assorted images this seems completely appropriate and complimentary to the tone of the film.

What do you think of the soundtrack? Are you excited to see how Tron Legacy is coming together?

  1. awsome.

  2. Yeah the soundtrack is a big part of the experience and I think they nailed this one.
Hope I can find a 2D showing of this one,,, at least the cd won’t be in 3D,,,

I hope they created a “Only Solutions” remix for the credits,,,,!

  3. meh, I’m rather underwhelmed by the excerpts.
it’s just background music. At least Walter/Wendy Carlos’ soundtrack had substance.

    • Some of it hasn’t aged that well, and I always thought it would have been a lot better if she’d been able to do the whole thing electronically. The sound design’s amazing though.

  4. Sounds perfectly alright – nice blend of orchestral and electronic – but I don’t hear anything that automatically spells them. Which is in some ways a good thing. People have been going on about Daft Punk as if they were the only logical choice on the planet for this soundtrack, and I can think of a dozen others who would have done this kind of thing equally well if not better.

  5. Hopefully, there will be a soundtrack CD issued. I don’t have anything that works with iTunes. :(

  6. Amazing, recently The End ( a radio ) published the six tracks that includes the Score of Tron, The BSO can be heared here:
