‘Trek Yourself’ Is Creepy & Cool

Published 5 years ago by , Updated April 16th, 2009 at 7:29 am,

There’s a fun new site out that’s connected to the upcoming Star Trek movie. It allows you to upload a picture of yourself and change yourself into either a Starfleet officer, a Vulcan or a Romulan.

The cool thing is that it doesn’t just create a static image – you map different points to your facial features and they animate the image. It’s cool, fun and creepy all at once. You can even enter a custom message in text and watch and hear yourself say it.

Sure there’s lots of product placement (for Cheeze-Its of all things) but it’s well worth it. I tried Starfleet officer and Vulcan – but in the end I make a pretty cool Romulan. icon smile Trek Yourself Is Creepy & Cool

Head over to TrekYourself.com and try it for yourself!

  5. Hey, that thing made me look thin. Can I apply this to my entire body? :-)

  6. Here’s mine.

  7. Kahless, you’ve got teeth, in your teeth. ;)

  8. Hah, so does Vic… that looks weird.

  9. @Aaron
And I have a Klingon name, and I’m smiling, and I look like Tuvok! What the….!!! 8-)

  10. Hahah, yeah, hopefully when Trek2 swings around, OddCast will include Klingons Ferenghi and… uh… the Borg for us to mess around with. :P

  11. The creepy thing about these is how they manage to incorporate head movement from a static image….

That’s mine. Sadly only decent pic I could find had my head facing the other way slightly so it comes out looking funny. My wife is pissed that doing it for girls sucks. It’s a little biased towards men.

  13. All right… charles darwin, where are you? I want to see YOUR pic Trekked out. :-P

    Vic

  14. Heh, great find, Vic…

I know I’m a relative unknown/newbie here (and even worse, a Transformers fan) but here’s mine anyway:

  15. Yeah, creepy/cool pretty much sums it up.

Looks like Tuvok and Spock had some kind of mirror universe Ponfar debacle…
    :-)

    In a good way ???

  17. @790
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. :-)

  18. Hey Vic, do you know if they will upgrade trekyourself to have Klingons, Ferengis, etc…?

  19. I doubt it – I would guess that they’re only doing folks that appear in the film.

    Vic

  20. Bummer. :-(
