Michael Bay is bringing the Transformers franchise back once again this year. Despite the films continuing to fall in critical reception, the box office returns have been better than ever. Paramount is hoping for more money, but better reviews when the fifth installment, Transformers: The Last Knight, later this year. Mark Wahlberg is returning as inventor Cade Yeager for the film, in which the Autobots may be pitted against their once heroic leader, Optimus Prime. The source of Prime's evil turn has not yet been officially unveiled, but whatever the rationale behind his turn on the human race is, it will bring him into conflict with Cade.

One of the most popular theories to Prime's turn is the possible involvement of Unicron and its world eating abilities. This could result in Earth's look temporarily being changed, allowing the humans a chance to experience a more cybertronian-esque planet. If that is the case, this may be where Cade and Vivian (Laura Haddock) have found themselves in a new photo from the film.

USA Today released the new still as part of their must-see movies of 2017 piece, giving fans a chance to see Cade and Vivian in uncharted territory. Wherever they are and however they got there, the chances of them being involved in an action sequence before or after is high. Even though Wahlberg is the star, he says those scenes are not as fun to him anymore:

It’s not as cool as it would be had I been 25. At 45, it's all pretty strenuous, but I really like that Michael gives me freedom to make the character my own, improvising and bring a lot of humor and elevate the emotion.

It is hard to say for certain where exactly the franchise's newest duo has found themselves, but clearly it is not of this world. Based on the presence of both highly advanced technological elements and what could be rocks, moss, and dirt, the possibility that they are exploring some portion of Unicron or a changed part of Earth makes sense. Even their clothes and accessories look like they went to this location on purpose to explore whatever it is they are looking at.

There is no telling how this is going to play into the movie when everything is said and done anyway, as the plot has been difficult to figure out. Not only has Optimus possibly turned evil and Unicron may be incoming, the story also somehow involves dinobots, King Arthur, the Excalibur sword, Nazis, and World War II. Clearly, Michael Bay and the newly implemented writer's room have thought up the most ambitious story yet, leaving fans with multiple possible reasons for the location in the photo.
