UPDATE: Scroll Down to see a clip from the film!

The big tentpole film of June 2014 is Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth film in Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, which will allegedly serve as the first chapter in a brand new trilogy – featuring brand new human and Transformers characters in addition to the ones we know and love.

Transformers 4 has been a curious beast, in terms of marketing; whereas previous installments have gone all out to show fans the biggest, baddest, most explosion-heavy scenes throughout each respective film, Age of Extinction has relied on pretty much showing off the same footage in every trailer and TV spot. Today’s “Judgement Day” TV trailer, however, shows us a little bit more new stuff – the biggest thing being our first good (if not brief) look at new Autobot, Drift.

Drift is a Samurai-themed Autobot from the Transformers G1 cartoon; in the original series, he was a reformed Decepticon seeking to regain his honor by serving the Autobots. In the new film, Drift will inexplicably sport the face based on a samurai warrior’s mask, while his vehicle form will be a sleek black-on-blue Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse. The character will be voiced by Godzilla and The Last Samurai star, Ken Watanabe.

NOTE: it’s interesting to see that at :36 Drift is doing battle with multiple models of that new magenta-colored Transformer type, which looks to be constructed out of nano-tech, or something. Not sure that we knew there would be more than one.

Other than Drift, we get more looks at classic characters like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee – as well as new characters like Crosshairs, Hound and (if you look at the screen BEFORE playing the video) the recently-revealed Dinobots. There are also new human characters on the good side (Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor), the bad side (Kelsey Grammer and Titus Wlliver) and in between (Stanley Tucci), but do you really care that much about them?

UPDATE: Case in point – here’s an all-human clip from the film. Does it hook your interest (even with Kelsey Grammer in it)?

Transformers: Age of Extinction will be in theaters on June 27, 2014.
