  1. Whatever guys. Show your handsome faces next time!!

  2. I absolutely love these videos you guys put. Not only are the podcasts amazing and I look forward to listening to them every week. I like these shorter videos which add some of your thoughts to these kind of news. I wouldn’t mind these in between podcasts when the major news hints. But I also love when you dive more in depth during the podcasts.

I thin that winter solider looks to be the supes movie of year. Winter solider looks badass and I agree that I wanna see falcon take a prominent Roll in the franchise as well as Bucky

Keep up the awesome work guys!!

  3. I think you guys need to do a visual podcast. I bet you guys are real funny together.
    Appreciate all the hardwork.

      • He doesn’t show up until about halfway through the movie. He doesn’t have a huge role.

    • I said the same thing on twitter. I’m hoping Ben keeps his word that it’ll happen at some point! =P

  4. I think Nick Fury is going to quote unquote “die” then avengers AOU he comes back and reveals some big thing

  5. Great video! I’m really pumped for all these movies, although I do feel like I know everything about The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
But Rob, I don’t really get what you meant about Spider-Man swinging and how its all been there done that? I mean it is, but its Spider-Man, there’s only so much you can do with a guy swinging around on webs in New York City.

    • What I mean is that all of these trailers are action packed but the Spidey appears the most familiar and unimpressive of the bunch. You can do more with Spider-Man and verticality than you can do with grounded Cap and a shield but that action looks fresh and badass.

      • Gotcha. And I agree.

      • It’s a lil tangent but do how do you feel about all the villains in the movie such as new addition allistaire smythe I feel like there’s too much going on compared to winter soldier where we don’t know much about its plot.

        • Likewise, we don’t know much about the plot of Amazing Spider-Man 2.

People complain that it looks too crowded but none of us know how much screen time most of those characters are going to get. Electro is the main villain and will get the most time on screen and Rhino will have a brief origin and a Mk. I battle suit but otherwise, we’re totally clueless as to how these characters play into the actual plot.

      • Interesting. I feel differently about it, namely because the action was fresh in TASM, but still relatively limited considering the character’s abilities. I will say that the trailers for TASM 2 are kind of burning me out on the new action stuff I have been seeing from the franchise.

  6. I like these vids, satiates me until next podcast, keep’em up.

  7. I especially liked your previous podcast video about the 25 Empire X-Men covers… Very enjoyable.
This one was good, but I thought you guys went a little too deep with the Transformers discussion. Or perhaps that’s just me, because I hate the Transformers series.
And I would like it if you could pause the video of the trailer if you are discussing a specific scene from it.. Sometimes what you are talking about and what’s playing in the video does not match up…

And my favourite Super Bowl trailer out of the three was Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Keep up the good work!! Looking forward to more such videos from you guys!!

    • I think that might just be you – Transformers was the most talked about trailer on the site for days and people had a lot of questions about it ;)

That said, I think we all agreed that the Cap 2 trailer is the best!

  8. Anyone miss the Ed Brubaker Cameo ?? :]

  9. So this is going to be a weekly thing now? Awesome

The Cap 2 one was the best, I would have given anything to see that movie instead of the game on Sun, and I’m a pretty big football fan. When Bucky ripped out that steering wheel I lost it, looks so insanely good!

I really like how Grimlock looks partly like a metal skeleton, I think it would be neat if they scanned a museum display or something. I didn’t notice the horns until everyone started complaining about it, not sure how i feel but I’ll reserve judgment until I see more. He does seem enormous tho, Optimus is already big and he looks small on him…

  10. Wow, just gloss over Spiderman, but whatever. That’s my most anticipated film. Looks like Spidey’s going to be done right this round. The humor, accidental villain origin, and the other various things we don’t know. The action looked great to me. I mean what else can you expect from a guy who shoots webs and isn’t all that physical? I didn’t enjoy Spiderman 2 like everyone else, so I can easily see this surpassing that for me.

    • Yeah, as someone who found the original trilogy too cheesy and corny to enjoy (and they haven’t aged well either in the decade since), I was happy that I finally got to see the Spider-Man movie I’d always hoped for in 2012 so the sequel this year is my most anticipated superhero flick of the year.

    • Glossed over? We talked about it for four minutes. Each of the segments was 4-5 minutes.

    • Lols, we don’t have time benchmarks per topic – it’s a natural convo. That being said, Spidey got the same time as the others…

  11. Okay, so can we talk about how awesome the music was in a Spider-Man trailer? Specifically speaking of when they introduce Electro… I want that song in my ears now!

    • Yea that song has been stuck in my head too, I tried to shazam it but it came up as some spanish radio show or something…

  12. I don’t know why there’s so much negative comments here about Spider-Man 2 ! It looks great – and I for one , never get tired of seeing Spider-Man swinging thru the New York Skyscrapers !
The effects are better than ever – mabey some folk are just too spoiled nowadays with so many superhero films out.
I think the new team behind Spider-Man deserve a bit more praise for what they’ve done.
It’s true Spidey lost ground to Iron Man & The Avengers since Spider-Man 3 came out – but he’s back – and I’d prefer to go see this anyday before another Transformers movie.

  13. Any chance to get the audio of these in the podcast feed? Great job as always guys.

    • Hey Cory –

For now, they’ll be video only on the site/youtube. The podcast is already pretty long (meaning a larger file size) – plus part of the reason that we’re doing them is to be able to take advantage of the video element.

We might change our minds on it as we develop more but, for now, that’s where we are at.

  14. I think Age of Extinction will focus on the dinobots and at the end they’ll set it up for Transformers 5: Unicron. I think Galvatron will be created at the end of AofE and we’ll get a glimpse of the force who re-created him… a planet-sized transformer.
then after they use the matrix to defeat Unicron in T5, T6 will be the search for the creators… the quintessons! IMO.

And yeah, Cap has the best trailer so far.

    • I simultaneously think and hope this will happen. With the trend of shared universe/large cast movies in full effect now, the transformers are in a unique position with the assortment of characters to choose from and a planet devouring big bad guy to build up to as well. If wise, they will take full advantage of that.
Although I’m extremely partial to the transformers, given the intrigue surrounding the Captain America installment’s story AND the visual indulgence of effects that appears to be ASM2 I will unfortunately be a fence-riding middle-grounder switzerland resident in choosing between these three. All three of these studios pimping their visual crack will get a couple of ticket sales from me.

    • The Quintessons’ involvement in the cinematic universe would be incredibly intriguing. They could be the creators of the All Spark (remember how Prime said they know not where it comes from), thus being the creators of the Transformers! I too hope to see Unicron appear in the fifth of sixth film and Galvatron is a must!

  15. i’m not a Cap fan but the trailers make me excited, i think it’s because i am more amped to see Falcon and Bucky, hopefully they use both correctly unlike Warmachine….

    • It’d be a shame if we didn’t get a disillusioned Rhodes dropping the Iron Patriot role and walking away from the USAF begrudgingly to return to his War Machine armour as a part of an Avengers team because we didn’t get much of that awesome suit apart from the IM2 finale.

I wonder if he’ll get the alien tech upgrade in future too.

  16. and i might be oldschool but that doesn’t look like Optimus sorry…he looks like a metal pirate (frills) with that shyt around his chest

  17. Just 2 questions regarding this new mini video podcast. Is Rob the one in charge of this instead of Ben? And where is the heart of the Underground team Anthony Ocasio?!

    • There isn’t really a host in these videos, who takes lead will just depend on what the topic is.

Ant is actually the one editing the videos and we’re in the process of trying to figure out how to get him into the mix. We record these differently than the podcast.

  18. I like these videos I hope you guys can continue to do these Trailer Analysis more often or at least some kind of version of them keep up the good work.

  19. I agree that the Cap trailer looked the most impressive. It’s also the freshest of all these sequel outings in terms of what we’ll get to see the character do. If we’re talking about freshness though, I’d have to say that I don’t have the same excitement for it as I did in 2007. Don’t get me wrong, Optimus riding a Dinobot is pretty cool, and it does look great, but in the words of Bay himself: “The cat is out of the bag”. By that I mean, from all these trailers, it’s actually Transformers for me that looks the most familiar. The look of the transformations and the staging of the action scenes, impressive as they are, are very much a product of the original design. The Transformers themselves do look somewhat different, but thus far, the action there looked the most unchanged: same style, same moves, new opponents and guns.

I think one could argue the same for Spider-man sans guns, but considering this is only Webb’s second outing with Spidey, and his approach to the action this time around is much more aggressive (i.e. Peter is a virtuoso Spider-man now vs. beginning hero), I’m anticipating seeing Spider-man action on a whole new level. To wrap this up and bring it full circle though, Captain America does look fantastic, and I want to make clear that I am definitely impressed with what Bay has continued to produce in terms of action for the Transformers series.

    • First paragraph, in reference to the third sentence where I brought up 2007, I was talking about Transformers.
