DrSamBeckett says:

To all the abolute fools criticising these two writers, they may have made a terrible mistake with transformers 2, but Star Trek had a great fun script. They can write Star Trek films for the rest of their career for all i care, I loved that film. Loved it.And upon further viewings some of the plotholes have vanished, pay closer attention and be rewarded. Cant wait to see what the next star trek will be like, as for transformers 3, i will not be in the queue on opening day. Whoever writes it, the first one was good, but making sequels only highlights all the intrinsic problems with a movie of that nature.

DrSamBeckett says:

There is only so much that can be done with giant talking robots and alluring shots of Megan Fox’s anatomy, i think Bay can be held most accountable. His vision, his film.

@StuntmanJ

They may not have anything ‘original to their names’ but i can think of one very well thought of film maker who hasnt bothered doing anything terribly original for a long time.

Peter Jackson.

Talented yes. But, LOTR, KING KONG, THE LOVELY BONES, TINTIN. There are no original ideas in Hollywood anymore. Just sequels, remakes, and adaptations.

Paul Young says:

@Beckett – There are plenty of original ideas in Hollywood they are just mostly coming from the indie studios. I have no problem with adaptations actually. Most books are good for story telling and if done right are very enjoyable.

Gigan300 says:

Orci and Kutzman are hacks who depend on the tie-in comic to explain the movie. A movie should be able to explain itself withouth the comic.

Paul Young says:

@gigan300 – Calling them hacks is a bit harsh. Check out the latest interview with them and see if it doesn’t better explains somethings for you.

M-Cat says:

I don’t think these guys have ever written anything original. every movie they have been involved with has already been written, they just needed to make adjustments. star trek and transformers being the first that come to mind. even the upcoming cowboys and aliens already has a story.

@gigan

Actually I understand that there was footage shot for the film that gave more backstory but it was cut due to Abrams/Paramount wanting to keep the film shorter.

Maybe it’ll turn up on the upcoming DVD.

ithink the revenge of the fallen was ten times better then the frist one because it went in to the past a little bit more of the robots. i think that michael baydid a gret job in diracting the film and i think that no one will do better then him.
