Chevy Transformers 3 Viral Super Bowl TV Spot

2 years ago by Rob Keyes

transformers 3 bumblebee Chevy Transformers 3 Viral Super Bowl TV Spot

This weekend will not only see North America’s most-watched sporting event of the year in the Super Bowl – which is expected to break all previous attendance and viewership records – but it also will offer the biggest line-up of first-look movie trailers and TV spots for the biggest films of the year, including of course, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Super Bowl supporting veterans Michael Bay, his Transformers franchise and GM will again partake and we already have our first look at one of their viral-esque commercials. Pulling us out of the semi-seriousness tone of the 1969-based Transformers: Dark of the Moon teaser trailer, this TV spot brings us to a little car dealership preparing for their Super Bowl weekend car deals. Check out Bumblebee in action.

Come on down for the Super Bowl Xtravaganza Sale!:

Bumblebee doesn’t seem like seem like such a friendly hero in this Transformers 3-Chevy ad. Imagine him (it?) picking up Megan Fox and tossing her off a cliff in Transformers 1 when her character, Mikaela Banes, pops the hood to take a peek at the engine. In the end, that’s what happened anyway since she’s been seemingly exiled from Michael Bay’s franchise.

Want to know why only the biggest and best trailers get a chance to air during Fox’s (previously ABC’s) cash cow sporting event? Each 30-second spot costs around$3 and doing the math, a full 2-minute movie trailer runs a studio $12 million. As ridiculous as these costs may seem, that’s what you pay to advertise to the biggest audience possible.

Other films buying a chance to showcase a teaser for their stuff during the Super Bowl include the highly anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger, X-Men: First Class, Super 8, Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Thor, Cowboys & Aliens and many more before, during and after the game.

Can Michael Bay succeed in making up for the mess that was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?

I just hope that they finally include the Transformers Robots in Disguise theme music in the opening and end credits of the movie.

It was in ROTF. It was the music SKids and Mudflap were playing when they were still an ice cream truck.

I’ve been stranded by those things enough, I don’t mess with them any more.

Dude, if I had a furry smacking me around with a foam hammer, I’d be a little irate too.
Seriously, though, it’s about what I’ve come to expect from the franchise.

For me unfortunately not. I’ve wrote him off. I liked “Armageddon” better…

Vaguely reminds me of my favorite part of the first movie, when Megatron flicks that guy in the street — I think I remember reading somewhere that the person being flicked was played by Michael Bay himself.

No that wasn´t Bay. It was a woman. But I know what you mean. There´s a hidden extra on the DVD in which Bay tries to escape a car that one Decepticon is about to crash.

More Michael Bay crap. Someone please take this franchise away from him so they can make a real Transformers movie and not the “Spike and his Girlfriend” show.

And of course does Bumblebee talk at all? Nooooooo! Course it is onlt 30 seconds so what can you expect? For Cybertron’s sake he’d better actually talk in this next film or I will be for a reboot.

Your Megan Fox bashing is disturbing. She didn’t ruin Transformers, MICHAEL BAY did.

Agreed… I thought Megan Fox was really good in the first movie and amazing in the second. When Sam was dieing/ dead in the 2nd film and she was screaming for him to come back it was the most believable acting I think I have ever seen.

Complaints about this will sadly enough be in mass and uncalled for. All the car did was pick the thing up and toss it to the side before speeding away. That’s far from the tag line “beating up a salesman” that I’ve seen listed on some other sites about this add.
