Hmmm, I’m on the fence. I’ll wait to see what rotten tomatoes says before I make a final decision. If the overall reviews are bad, I’ll rent it. Otherwise, I’ll go see it.

I hope the FX was placeholders because they looked like crap…much like the “acting”.

Well.. personally.. that looks pretty god damn good. I’m thinking it won’t be as good as Underworld, but probably better than the flaky Unerworld 2.

So, Beckinsale isnt in it at all? Not even a cameo towards the end? Booooo to that, she was awesome in the first two. I will still go see this though.

Gosh I don’t know, I mean, we already know the end of this story.

Much like reading the last page of a book prior to opening it, we won’t be able to have the same feeling about the characters.

I agree with Evie. We know how it ends, and knowing that makes it hard to become emotionally committed to any of the characters. Plus, this is basically bad guy vs bad guy. Who exactly do they want me pulling for?

Well, they pretty much turned Lucien into the good guy by making him do things for his race where Viktor was pretty much doing things for himself.

I agree that knowing the ending makes it tough, but did the millions of people who saw Titanic really care? And you also know that Spider-Man or Batman will always defeat the villain so although the outcome is know, its getting to it that is what makes it fun.

You can’t compare this with Titanic. Although the ship sank, the movie was actually character-driven, and we knew nothing of those stories.

And yeah, we … usually know what will happen in superhero films, but again, you can’t compare it. You don’t know exactly how it is going to happen. With this one, we do.

The only difference is the in-between. We don’t know exactly how they got caught, but we know they did and that it turned out really, really bad. Meh, I’ll prolly see it, since that is what I do: I watch a lot of movies.

Nowhere did I say this was Titanic or a Super Hero movie. I was just stating that just because you know the ending doesnt mean you cant enjoy the movie, and you reiterated my point about getting to the parts you know is what is fun.

And all I said is that you can’t compare them. Take Titanic for instance, you didn’t know if those characters were going to live or die or what (since you knew there were survivors).

With this movie, you know, so it will be very difficult for me to emotionally attach myself to her when I know for a fact that I’m going to get hurt.

I feel like we are talking about two different things anyway. I guess you thought by what I said that I wasn’t going to see it?

I guess its just 2 different ways of thinking.

To me, I knew Titanic was going to sink, I knew most people would die and some would live and it didnt matter to me who did what as long as they were well played and developed and had good stories to them.

With this, I know Lucien and Sonja will both get caught, Sonja will burn, Lucien will escape, but what happens to everyone else in the process? What led Sonja to Lucien? Why did he love her and her him? Getting to that end point will be a lot of fun with (hopefully) good effects and stories.

Oh, and I wasnt sure if you would see it or not. I would hope having seen the others someone would go see it, but I understand many reasons for not going as well.

I liked both Underworlds and will definately see this one. I can see why some of you may be ambivalent because you know the ending, but how many of you liked Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the one with Keanu Reeves? I’m sure you knew it was a love story? I’m sure you knew Drac would partially turn Mina and totally turn Lucy? And I’m sure you knew Mina would be saved and Drac would be killed? Anyway, to each his own. I liked the trailer and will check it out.

:)

I’m saying that I won’t be able to care about them as much. I actually watched Bram Stoker’s Dracula about a month ago and I didn’t give one whit about Lucy for example.
