We’ve been talking about the new Disney 3D movie A Christmas Carol since the first poster came out during Cannes earlier this year. With Robert Zemeckis (Polar Express) directing and Jim Carrey (Ace Ventura) starring as Ebenezer Scrooge, the Charles Dickens’ classic tale is sure to be a hit with audiences.
Today we bring you the official teaser trailer for A Christmas Carol as well as the first TV spot and a new still for you to enjoy.
Enough talking, let’s watch the trailer.
And now the TV spot:
And finally, the new still from A Christmas Carol:

Marley (Gary Oldman) visits Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey)
There is no denying that the imagery used is glorious and will look outstanding on an IMAX screen but we can only hope that the use of 3D technology is the same as in UP and helps enhance the movie and not make it gimmicky. I admit that I was a bit hesitant at first to be excited for this film for that very reason but I’m slowly coming around.
The details of the characters on screen, especially Scrooge, are astounding and amazingly high in places. Although there is still work to be done with some of the other human faces, it would appear that the majority of the work was spent Carrey’s motion capture of Scrooge (or the other 7 characters he plays in this movie!). Makes sense, it is after all, a part written for him.
What do you think of the new trailer for A Christmas Carol? Does it sway you into watching it in theaters or are you still “Bah! Humbug!” about it?

I am a FREAK for this story and almost all versions of this film..regardless of the genre..my first though after watching this was meh..it’s ok..I am really suprised by that..
I’m watching this in Imax… in 3-D!!!!!!
Looks decent, I mean it is a movie that has been done over and over again, time to shake it up a little, at least they aren’t remaking the old puppet christmas movies(Santa Clause is Coming to Town, Rudolf etc.)
(just seeing if my avatar works)
You think it’s really wise to brag about the Polar Express in the trailer? It seems like they’ve gotten the facial and lip movements down in this one. there’s actually expression for these characters as opposed to a puppeteer with a few corpses.
Wow, I wanted this to be good but I’m incredibly NOT impressed by this trailer. At all.

Big Woop. No make that a ‘little’ Woop.
I rather see Patrick Stewart’s One-Man Play on Stage (or even the Audiobook) any day.
Another waste. (And to think that I was excited when I saw the development signs on the Universal lot a year ago…
Got get another doughnut… ~ Stark
Got to say, I was intrigued – until I saw the clip.
