Tracy Morgan and Juliette Binoche are currently dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on their contracts so that they can star opposite Al Pacino and Channing Tatum in Dito Montiel’s Son of No One.
Morgan’s attachment to the cop drama (hot on the heels of Cop Out) follows Terrance Howard’s departure as a friend of Tatum’s character, while Binoche will play a reporter in the film which follows “a young cop assigned to a precinct in the working class neighborhood where he grew up, with an old secret surfacing and threatening to destroy his life and family.”
This role is something of a departure for 30 Rock star Morgan, who is mainly known for his comedic roles – see the above mentioned Cop Out, although I hear from a lot folks, there isn’t much comedy in that one either.
For Howard it comes as another blow for the actor after being replaced by Don Cheadle in the forthcoming Iron Man 2. The actor was on the cusp of great things, and something, somewhere along the line happened that has caused his career to veer off track.
Binoche was also on the verge of being a major movie star about 15 years ago, but the actress now spends her time making a lot of films in her native France, only flirting with Hollywood occasionally.
Ray Liotta, and Katie Holmes also star in Son of No One which starts shooting next week in New York for Nu Image/Millennium Films.
