[Update: We've added the International Trailer for Toy Story 3]

A second trailer for Toy Story 3 is here and it reveals what looks to be another sure hit for Pixar.

In an era where most sequels are pure crap (Transformers 2), Pixar has managed to keep Toy Story relevant and even exciting through the most basic, yet overlooked, method possible: quality storytelling.

In this latest installment, young boy Andy is now an awkward teenager ready to head off for college. Like any college-bound kid, Andy beings to sift through his possessions for what he will bring with him to school, and through a cleaning mishap, his old toys end up donated to a child daycare center. All of our favorites – Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), Mr. Potato Head (Don Rickles), Rex (Wallace Shawn) – are tossed into a new world, with new toy companions and hordes of unruly toddlers to face everyday. However, some bonds in life aren’t easily broken, and when Andy comes looking for his lost toys, his toys in turn go looking for him.

Update: Here’s the international trailer for Toy Story 3:

Now I love Pixar to death, but one big narrative theme they’re going to have to explain to me is how an eighteen-year-old boy in this modern day and age still has such affinity for toys. And not just toys, but rag dolls and potato heads. Unless Andy is a comic book geek who splurges on collectible figurines (which Screen Rant offers through our advertising partners, FYI), I have a hard time buying that at eighteen he wouldn’t be “sexting” his girlfriend or on gchat with his buddies finding out whose older sibling was going to buy the booze that night. Call me a cynic.

Whatever though – if anybody can remind us that every horny teen has (or had) an innocent side once, surely it’s Pixar.

Toy Story 3 hits theaters on June 18, 2010. New additions to the cast include Michael Keaton as the Ken doll and Timothy Dalton as “Mr. Pricklepants.”

  1. Now that was funny. Im def taking my little brother to see this. I cant completely agree that an 18 yr old wouldnt have any affinity for his old toys. Its plausible to still care. My old toys are still around my folks house ( Though they are being played with by my Lil Bro)

  2. Well, I'm done, no more Toy Story 3 footage for me. I'm sold, I'm going to see it no matter what, they don't need to sell to me anymore.

  3. its not available in my country:( any chance u might post a new link or something? thnx:)

  4. man i can only get this kinda feeling from a pixar movie

  5. Same here.

  6. I can see Andy wanting to keep his old toys around at his moms house or giving them to a friend as opposed to just throwing them away I still have a few of my fav old toys in storage that I wouldn't mind handing down to my children, and I have an old pillow person that used to belong to my mom. Then again I'm a girl so it might be a bit different.

  7. I'm 18 and whilst I don't “play” with the toys,. I still keep them around my room for nostalgic's sake.
I can relate to this since I'm heading for to Uni this Sep hopefully so what will I do with my beloved toys??

BTW – not all of us are the stereotypical, sex obsessed, lager-louts. Some teens are actually mature.
