Pixar movies have quickly become a staple in every parent’s video library. For the most part, each of their films are good wholesome fun with little to no political or social message hidden between the lines (Wall-E not withstanding). I remember watching the first Toy Story with my girlfriend (now my wife) back in 1995 and then Toy Story 2 for our first anniversary in 1999. After that, we started having kids and when my daughter turned 3 one of the first films I got her hooked on was Toy Story and when my son turned 2 he fell in love with it too.
That’s why I’m excited to see what Toy Story 3 is going to bring to audiences. Written by Michael Ardnt (Little Miss Sunshine) and directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc.), Toy Story 3 brings back all of our favorite toys and some new friends for us to play with. Woody, Jessie, Rex, Buzz, Sergeant, Hamm, The Potato Heads and Slinky Dog are all there voiced by the original people, except for Slinky Dog. Blake Clark (Leatherheads) replaces the late Jim Varney in that role.
There are some new toys joining us as well: Barbie’s jobless boyfriend Ken (Michael Keaton), Mr. Pricklepants (Timothy Dalton) and new “villain” of the film Losto Love Bear (Ned Beatty). The adventure picks up several years after the 2nd film when Andy gets ready to leave for college and while packing up his beloved toys, they inadvertently get tossed into the donation pile and get dumped at a day-care center. Of course, they know that Andy doesn’t want them to be gone so they make a plan for escape.
Here’s a quick teaser clip from the trailer that is supposed to drop tomorrow:
Just a lot of classic stuff going on here and I’m digging all of the new toys with the wall crawling sticky octopus being my favorite. I used to love opening up a box of Honeycomb cereal and getting one of those awesome toys. I couldn’t wait to get to school the following day and throw it up against the concrete wall to watch it slowly creep down, leaving behind a trail of slime. Good times!
What did you think of the short clip of Toy Story 3 and what toy did you enjoy playing with as a kid that you hope to see in this new movie?
Toy Story 3 comes out of the toy box to play June 18th, 2010.

Toy Story is always good times. I look forward to this.
Yeah, you really can't go wrong with these movies. I liked the first one a lot more than the second one, but I don't doubt that this will be a good movie.
They should throw in some demonic Furbies haha remember those? They were freaky. This will definitely be good though. I like the idea of having Ken in it.
i hope the toy soldiers is in this one, they were awesome!
