Toy Story 3 Web Chat New Toy Story 3 Promo Clip Mocks Instant Messaging

Disney/Pixar has released yet another clever promo clip for their 3D sequel Toy Story 3, along with a new standard advertisement featuring some new footage.

The new clip for Toy Story 3 is more in the vein of last month’s “adult” commercials as it plays with the concept of just how Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen) would make use of such modern marvels as the internet and web chat.  As you might imagine, the results are amusingly charming.

Based off the footage released so far, Toy Story 3 looks to be many things that this week’s big 3D animated sequel release – Shrek Forever After – was not. For instance: original, funny, and filled with a horde of new, colorful characters.  Likewise, you can expect the Pixar flick to exceed, rather than fall below, the box office levels of its predecessor – if only due to the the 3D movie ticket price surcharges since 1999.

Onto the latest promo clip:

Kudos to Screen Rant readers who caught the Totoro doll on Woody’s left in the clip.

There is also a new regular advertisement for the latest Toy Story adventure, featuring some not-yet-seen footage, the likes of which include a look at Andy’s now-elderly brown pup, Buster.

If you haven’t seen them already, you should check out the recent Toy Story 3 behind-the-scenes featurette, Potato Head-oriented promo, and internet/Japanese trailers as well.  Those still in need of a Pixar fix will just have to tough it out for a few more weeks now.

Toy Story 3 will hit regular, 3D, and IMAX theaters in the U.S. on June 18, 2010.

  1. ha! funsies…

  2. hahahaah the first video! “oh thats just a dinosaur toy down the street” i laughed sooo hard hahahah im actually looking forward to this movie! :)

  3. Nice of Pixar to expose young children to texting.
I wonder what else is in the background?

    • “Expose” since children don’t know about texting now. Oh what new cutting edge technology will be displayed next!

    • According to the numbers more kids text than adults. The best and most sold apps for the iPhone are for entertaining kids.
“Expose”? Introduce would be a better word.

  4. Come on Ken, you have to admit a lot of small kids that don’t own computers or cell phs will see this movie.

    • I swear a higher percentage of kids own cell phones than adults now-a-days… It’s sad when you see kids turning in reports in school written in text-speak… *shakes head*

      • I’ve never heard of kids turning in reports in text-speak, but it’s a frightening thought that a generation of children could grow up so ignorant.

  5. Yeah what a screwed future kids are going to deal with.

    We are borg.

  6. You know what’s f-uped Ken, is the suppressed info that cell phones are harmful to children. ^
They shouldn’t even be using cells phs!

The seal of approval (UL), Cell phs were never tested on children or females.!
