Attendees at last year’s Comic-Con were treated by Disney/Pixar with a fake vintage clip titled “Groovin’ with Ken,” a promo for their latest animated feature, Toy Story 3. It’s been almost a year since then, and with Toy Story 3 prepped to hit theaters in just a few weeks, that promo has made its way online at last.
In the near-impossible case that you HAVEN’T heard yet, Toy Story 3 finds Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), and rest of the Toy Story gang headed to Sunnyside Daycare Center as their owner Andy is now grown up and going off to college. One of several new toys that will appear in this film will be Barbie’s fashion-savvy boyfriend, Ken (Michael Keaton).
As you’ll see, this new Toy Story 3 promo is in the vein of the Lots-O’-Huggin’-Bear Ad that came out a while ago, as its worn filmstrip look and on-the-fly camera movement perfectly mimics the design of an old 1970s live interview. Plus, you get to see Ken disco dance – that alone is kind of priceless.
Onward to the promo below:
If you haven’t already seen it, you should check out the Ken’s “Dream Tour” clip from Toy Story 3 for a better look at the plastic man in action. He definitely looks to be a memorable addition to the Toy Story franchise – if only for his blue leopard paw print shirt and matching ascot.

So what do you think? Does it look like Pixar has yet another winner on their hands?
Toy Story 3 will arrive in regular, 3D, and IMAX theaters in the U.S. on June 18, 2010.

I Love Michael keaton and I am so glad they got him to do the voice over of Ken.
I just wish he’d get more acting gigs cause I;d love to see him back in the super hero genre even if its not as Batmna. Perhaps he could play the Villian in the next Batman by Nolan? Wouldn’t that bee cool?
I can easily see Keaton as a nut job villian like the Ridler.
I like Keaton too. He shouldve been in the series earlier because what I seen from the clips hes pretty funny!
